Hulu Desktop 0.9.4 (Mac OS X)

RE:Power PC version

I tried it (also 0.9.1 version) and it runs on my 1.4 GHz Power PC G4 AGP tower / Mac OS 10.4.11. 640 RAM (yea I know I need more RAM, LOL). Same thing with video set @ High quality - stuttering. Lower the quality to Medium / Low, pause & let buffer get full then hit play - watchable & quality still looks good. The app pushes my processor between 20 - 70 %. Think it's more of a streaming issue maybe and I'm a fast DSL connection. We have to remember that this is still a beta version. *** Side note: My son is doing a download on his computer during this testing which affects my streaming ability. I'll try later when he's done. Transmission 1.52 (Mac OS X)

Internet Explorer Support ? For Mac OS X ???

Under the new update comments it has... What's new in this version: Better Internet Explorer support I didn't think you could run Internet Explorer in the Mac OS X anymore or why would you want too. Why would Transmission then support it in the Mac OS X??? I haven't got Internet Explorer to work in years. Just wondering.... To me, Vuze, still does a better job of getting more seeders and my download stays higher (bitrate) & faster. I have done comparisons between the 2 apps with same torrent to see the difference. Poisoned 0.519.1 (Mac OS X)

Didn't work - OS X 10.2.8

After downloading, clicked on icon - started to open then Poisoned immediately shutdown. This happens when I try to open an OS 10.3.7 or higher application under OS 10.2.8. Notes said this was for 10.2.0 and higher. ????? [alert admin]

No Gravity 1.98.r8 (Mac OS X)

Froze Computer : Warning Will Robinson Warning ! ! ! !

Downloaded both parts and started up program. It tried to start but froze the computer with black screen with zigzag lines. COULD NOT FORCE QUIT. Had to hit the main reset button on the computer. Did not get a crash log apparently because it froze the whole system. Running G4 400 mhz 640 RAM on OS X 10.2.8. [alert admin]

Cabos 0.2.9 (Mac OS X)

Re:Download

Click on the page-looking icon with 4832 kb beside it. Download should start within seconds. That's what worked for me. For Apple/Mac Users: If visiting any foreign sites and you can't read anything, copy & paste any text into Sherlock's Translation channel, choose what you want to translate to ( Japanese to English) then click on translate. It is actually pretty good. Cabos (beta) is good. Still needs some fine tuning. Still would put it behind Limewire & Poisoned for overall looks, functionality & downloads. [alert admin]

Xfactor 0.273 (Mac OS X)

Still Unreliable

Positives 1) Like the interface and look of the program. Negatives 1) Still will lose search results without warning. 2) Loses what I was searching for - gone out of the searches box. 3) Not that reliable getting a download when compared to Limewire, Poisoned, Acquistion, Cabos, etc. 4) No update since 9/25/2004 to fix bugs. 5) Theater (tried to use as a preview option) never did function smoothly. Crashed program frequently. Hope you take this as constructive criticism. Apparently, the developer is working on a 10.3 version (beta) and looks like he will no longer support the 10.2.8 version. Since the developer will not fix the current problems, it looks like I will be trashing XFactor and stay with something more reliable. One point though........... If you can't get the bugs out of the 10.2.8 version, How good are you going to get it right the 10.3 version ????? The Poisoned developer was able to support and fix bugs within 24 hours. Right now its a killer program. Food for thought !!! [alert admin]

Poisoned 0.518 (Mac OS X)

Worse than ever.............

Same problem as in version 0.517, but even worse because unchecking the Gnutella plug-in is not working for me in this latest version. Now crashes....... Running 10.2.8. Had tried updating the gift nodes as the program requested when first starting up this new version. Said giFT not starting up correctly and to reset. Trashed all related files, reran system permissions to possibly clear up anything on that end and still had the same results. Was able to revert back to 0.517 with the Gnutella plug-in unchecked. Any suggestions ??? This has been a very good program in past versions. [alert admin]

If you don't like the nag notices...

I agree with you that it is a good program which has been developed from open-source material, BUT the the developer has CROSSED a line of basicly hijacking another program for his purposes without the computer owner's permisson.. Something a HACKER would do !!!!!
