Parallels Desktop 4.0 Build 3848 (Mac OS X)
I use parallels every day in our private practice (integration of software for our audiometry into our mac environment). It works great. No problems in any way. At home used on OS 10.6.1 - no problems here either. No experience with support - no need for any so far. [alert admin]

TypeIt4Me 4.2 (Mac OS X)
On my machine(s) I use it since many many years and rely on it. It's extremely helpful. In contrast to the last posting I can even correct misspelt words and still get expansion. Developers feedback and help (seldom needed) is very prompt. A real time and nerve saver, worth every penny. I did not use typinator, which seems to offer about the same features. I use(d) popchar from the same company and there I get nerve killing offers for (payed) updates - so I do not see a reason to try out something different. [alert admin]

Not working properly with snowleopard
After installing snowleopard, I can't send faxes anymore (they arrive as multipage "smears"). Receiving faxes works. (newest version - according to smileonmymac should be working) Support reacting promptly - problem so far unsolved. So - if you need faxing in your business - only install snowleopard if you have other means of faxing. Otherwise great software. [alert admin]

The Missing Sync for iPhone 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
notes got duplicated - no syncying back to the iphone (as in phoneview). Elegant interface - but def. not worth the money. I used missing sync for palm, then for windows mobile. Those apps were indispensable for me. I uninstalled the version for iphone today. [alert admin]

Quicksheet 1.0 (iPhone)
works as advertised - finally excel editing on iPhone ![]()

Smoth and elegant interface, replaces several of my other apps (Access to idisk, webdav-accessibility over wifi). Most important: it can edit / create excel files (no word-editing though). Pricing ambitious, but worth the money (at least in my case - I have been waiting for excel editing since long - actually this was one of the reasons I didn't buy a iPhone but a windows mobile htc touch when iphone was released). Now we are waiting for word editing and for copy-paste function (in iphone's os).... Overall an important step in the right direction. [alert admin]

Apple Digital Camera RAW Support 2.0.4 (Mac OS X)
Strange... NikonD300 supported by iPhoto, Preview, but not by Aperture 2 ![]()

While even quickpreview can display NikonD300 RAWs correctly (as iPhoto, as preview) Aperture2 delivers a distorted view, while aperture1 cannot read the format at all. Didn't I pay for Aperture1? Will I upgrade to aperture2? Is Redmond involved? Have a guess. [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 2.5 Build 3036.0 (Mac OS X)
I like the new features. No problems on installing a vm booting from the bootcamp partition - after finding the Parallels tools for bootcamp (link for download actually in the description readily available - just did not realize it). Had to reactivate windows xp again (was no problem) and had to reactivate word (same here). REALLY like the coherency mode. Also great is the drag-and-drop between finder and windows desktop. Keep on going! [alert admin]

WARNING: NO UPGRADE TO ACADEMIC LICENSES!
I think you missed the point: The initial academic version is cheaper, the upgrade is the same price as for all owners. I was annoyed as well.

I do agree. There is a woirk around for the moment being: open the document in preview - rotate it till it fits - save. Result: the thumbnail keeps the wrong orintation, the loupe give's the right view. Further comment: So far I do not see a big difference between 1.1.3 (free) and 1.2.X. I will wait with buying until they implement more feature (rotation, scanning multiple page docs from the automatic document feeder in one…
