Apple Digital Camera RAW Support 2.0.4 (Mac OS X)
Strange... NikonD300 supported by iPhoto, Preview, but not by Aperture 2 ![]()

While even quickpreview can display NikonD300 RAWs correctly (as iPhoto, as preview) Aperture2 delivers a distorted view, while aperture1 cannot read the format at all. Didn't I pay for Aperture1? Will I upgrade to aperture2? Is Redmond involved? Have a guess. [alert admin]

Please add Switzerland as default domain in the prefs. Then it would be perfect. Thanks [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 2.5 Build 3036.0 (Mac OS X)
I like the new features. No problems on installing a vm booting from the bootcamp partition - after finding the Parallels tools for bootcamp (link for download actually in the description readily available - just did not realize it). Had to reactivate windows xp again (was no problem) and had to reactivate word (same here). REALLY like the coherency mode. Also great is the drag-and-drop between finder and windows desktop. Keep on going! [alert admin]

Yep 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)
After trying i would not want to miss it any more. About yep says it's version 1.1.1 while it actually is 1.1.2. Particularly great in combination with a scanner! [alert admin]

FaxCenter 1.5 build 14 (Mac OS X)
I like this app because it has a fax browser where I can check the sent faxes (which is not the case in Tiger's fax). To those who think that faxing is an obsolete technology: there are several reasons, why one needs a fax from time to time (not the least is the fact that a fax is legally as valid as a signed letter - where as an email is not). Sending personal data (e.g. medical data of a patient) over the internet is not safe (I do know that there are possibilities like PGP etc. - but what can you do when others do not / cannot use it). So I believe we will have to deal with faxes for some more years. Thanks Ben - the latest version works again - the problem with inverse printing (white on black background) is gone. [alert admin]

CocoaBooklet 1.3.3 (Mac OS X)
Just Great - ok you'll have to save a (let's say) word file as pdf first and make the booklet from that. But it works and is free. [alert admin]

EasyEnvelopes 1.0.0 (Mac OS X)
Helpful widget, Nice would be, if the user could change the layout of the envelope. [alert admin]

CHM Viewer 1.1.6 (Mac OS X)
Cannot open a file, which is opened by chmox. Therefore I cannot judge functionality since this is the one file I am going through the hassle of searching a reader. Virtual PC is a better alternative - if you have it anyway. If not you might try chmox. [alert admin]

Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Compared to Version 6 on a G4 867MHz 1,12 MB RAM Version 7 on a dual G5 2.0GHz with 1.5 GB RAM is faster and more fluid. Windows 98 not supported anymore?! Win XP runs smoothely - speedwise at least as good as my old P3 550MHz Notebook with 512 Meg of RAM. I use it for my Windows based finance/e-banking software. For this it's fast enough, but it doesn't support my "moneypen" (usb-ocr pen). Integration into airport network without any problem. [alert admin]

I think you missed the point: The initial academic version is cheaper, the upgrade is the same price as for all owners. I was annoyed as well.

I do agree. There is a woirk around for the moment being: open the document in preview - rotate it till it fits - save. Result: the thumbnail keeps the wrong orintation, the loupe give's the right view. Further comment: So far I do not see a big difference between 1.1.3 (free) and 1.2.X. I will wait with buying until they implement more feature (rotation, scanning multiple page docs from the automatic document feeder in one…
