BackJack Online Backup Service 4.2 (Mac OS X)

Unobtrusive and efficient

I am delighted with this trouble-free backup service. It runs in the background and provides a secure haven for my sensitive files. It supports my OS 10.3 operating system. Once your folders and files have been uploaded the subsequent scheduled backups are accomplished in short order. Files are automatically encrypted and compressed for uploading. The monthly fee is reasonable and there is no charge for the software. When I have had a question I found the folks at BackJack to be very helpful. I would recommend this product. [alert admin]

homeAudit 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Not bad (but not great, either)!

Has some good features but is not (yet?) an adequate substitute for Quicken Home Inventory. It is not password protected, an unfortunate omission. If you have a small screen you may find that the main window cannot be fully displayed as the fixed aspect-ratio does not seem to permit any adjustment. I found Sole Possession v.2.0 to be a superior product, at a more reasonable price. [alert admin]

Sole Possession 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Looks & Feels Good!

Finally, I have been able to find home inventory software that replaces my Quicken Home Inventory - which does not come in a OS X version. Sole Possession is simple to use, has a good-looking and intuitive user interface, is password-protected and and has a reasonable price tag. [alert admin]

recorder.xhead 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Tried, without registration.…

The output was virtually inaudible, at maximum settings. Is this because it's unregistered? Wouldn't risk buying it. It seems potentially useful. [alert admin]

Installer does not work

Installer worked fine for me. The application is a significant improvement over its predecessor. Why would someone who had a problem state that "like everyone else I was unable to get the installer to work."? Very unfair.
