CoffeeCup HTML Editor 9.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
product, though I must say I am biased towards Allaire's Homesite. The nice thing about CoffeeCup is they also have a Linux version of this editor ! [alert admin]

DragStrip 3.8 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
functionality, but the appearance needs a lot of work. It's HUGE, like double the thickness of my taskbar. And it's so cartoony, it looks like a Win3.1 app. [alert admin]

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
to go to XP, dont' buy the home edition. It is feature-poor compared to the Pro edition. Most people I know who just bought PC's over the past month that came with Home Edition immedately went out and got Pro. Personally, I prefer Win2k, but you can't play directx/3d games on Win2k. [alert admin]

7-Zip 2.30 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
how it shows zip files basically as folders, which should reduce confusion for new users. It's also free/beta, whereas powerarchiver, my personal fave, just went to a pay-to-use model after years of being free. [alert admin]

Sun StarOffice 6.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
If you need an alternative to MS Office, this is it. While it does have some problems importing heavily formatted word docs, overall, it's a really good app. And it's FREEWARE even after the end of the beta, so you can't beat that ! [alert admin]

Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition 7.6 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
there is no comparison. Ever since we installed this, we've had ZERO instances of infection from any of the new viruses, including Nimda, Sircam, and Magistrate. It even protects people while surfing the web. For example, a website I know of got infected with Nimda, and so it infected all html, gif's, jpeg's etc. Well, when our users visited that site, Norton scanned the files, cleaned them, then let the user view the page. The admin console is the best product I've seen so far. Even Microsoft hasn't pushed the envelope with the MMC as far as Norton has. [alert admin]

Yahoo Messenger 5.0b1029 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
users bashing some developers products in the Windows pages. This is not a forum for bashing a product on a different platform. Therefore, I'm going to give this a 5, it deserves it, and I need to counter the ridiculous 1's mac users keep posting. [alert admin]

this version ? They've had an awful lot of updates to what I'd consider a pretty much complete program. Maybe VT could list what the changes are ? [alert admin]

IEAK 6.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
and of itself, is an improvement over the IE5.5 admin kit. However, I'm not deploying IE 6 in our offices yet because we're finding it has odd problems with any popup windows, which many of our internal web apps use. [alert admin]

about having to hunt through all your sites for news, just grab this. Now if WT had an rss feed I could plug into. [alert admin]
