Parallels Desktop 4.0 Build 3848 (Mac OS X)
I am running 3846. I went to "check for updates" under Parallel's help menu and it said I was running the latest version. Therefore, what's with this version. I am running a Core 2 Duo iMac under 10.6.1. [alert admin]

Apple iPhone 3.1.2 (iPhone)
3.1 introduced a bug, which is still there. Smart play lists end up on the iPod Touch in random order. Whether I arrange them in iTunes by name or play duration, either ascending or descending, the order on the Mac is not the same as on the iPod. This bug was not in 3.0 [alert admin]

Circus Ponies NoteBook 3.0 (v362) (Mac OS X)
I'm running 362. I went to the application menu to check for new versions and it told me that 362 is up to date. I am on 10.6.1. Is this version possibly only for an older OS? [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.6.1 (Mac OS X)
Please correct the description
I notice the description states that it is for 10.5 iNtel. Prithee, doest thou mean it is for 10.6? [alert admin]

TomTom Home 2.6.4.356 (Mac OS X)
yesterday, when I saw this I went to my own TomTom Home to see if it was current, figuring I'd download the "official" way. It did tell me that there was a newer version, but it was not this number, but an earlier one, 2.6.3.313. I don't understand. I did upgrade to that. I just tried again through the application, and it tells me there is no newer version than 2.6.3.313. Could this one be bogus? [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 8.1 (Mac OS X)
There is a lag (G5 iMac running 10.5.6) when I start to play a song now. It is disconcerting. If I double click the song nothing happens, so I click the play button. Eventually the song starts, but then it takes my click on the play button as clicking on the stop button. I guess I will eventually get used to it, but I do not like it. [alert admin]

Circus Ponies NoteBook 2.1 v262 (Mac OS X)
When I saw this on Version Tracker I went to my copy of Notebook and checked for new versions. It told me that my v262 is up-to-date. I am using a G5 iMac and 10.4.11. Possibly the new version is only for iNtel machines or Leopard? I do love this program, BTW. [alert admin]

Eudora 8.0.0b3 (Mac OS X)
Shakespeare asked (Romeo and Juliet) what's in a name? In this case the name "Eudora" is all that there is that is the program we have used and loved. Reminds me of another famous rip-off of purloining a name (Shakespeare also said, "Who steals my purse steals trash, but who steals my good name...") I do remember when Apple bought out StyleWare so they could have that company's GSWorks and they renamed it AppleWorks-GS, which became the flagship program of Claris. Of course the only thing that that program had in common with the original AppleWorks was the name. [alert admin]

TomTom HOME 2.2.0.16 (Mac OS X)
The older version was bad enough. This one is far worse. As un-Mac-like as the old interface was, this one is far worse. The older version allowed multiple backups. This one automatically will overwrite your old backup with a new one. Furthermore, the old backup routine took about 20 minutes, since it was backing up 900+ megs. This one takes about 5 seconds, so I doubt it really is doing a backup. I contacted TomTom by their hard to access web site tech support, and they gave me a gibberish answer. Furthermore, other than the backing up, this version is far slower than the one I got a couple of months ago. One more thing. When you unZIP the download what shows up on your desktop is an installer that if you double click it you get no dialogue. It simply overwrites your older version, no questions asked. [alert admin]

I've been using LauncherX for years and years, and love it. Now I have 1.2.28 on my Treo 650. Nowhere here on Versiontracker nor on the web site this points to, though, can I see how the latest version is different from what I have. Why download it? Why fix it if it ain't broken? [alert admin]

I went to the program's "check for updates" and that seemed to find it, even if the link on versiontracker did not.

Same here. I wandered all over their site, and went into an infinite loop. When I clicked on the link saying "5.0.6 released" I ended up right where I had been.

Is there a native OS-X version of Bernie? I used to run it under Classic, but even then the version I had broke with a later version of OS-X, which is why I ran Gus under Classic environment. I now run Sweet16 under OS-X Leopard

For IIgs emulation I use Sweet16. It is pretty good. I used to like Gus, but it ran in Classic mode. Sweet16 runs in Leopard on my iNtel (as I like to spell it <grin>) machine.

I got this problem with the last security update. i was hoping that this would ameliorate the problem. I was able to fix it with a lot of clicking and hitting return. I took my PowerBook to the Apple Store and they fixed it. I then did what they did on my desktop machine (harder to lug than the PowerBook)

Because it is a set of small images, in the menu bar, the dock and a corner of the screen, and you can forgo any of those too. Where would you put the radar? You are asking why a Prius is not also a dump truck, so to speak.

I had a fan problem on my G5 iMac with an earlier version of 10.4. What it was was that after going into single user mode and then booting normally the fans ran at full blast. I found out that unplugging the machine (after shutting down of course) and then plugging it back in solved that problem. Possibly the poster can try that to see if it fixes his fan problems.

I had exactly the same problem. Twice I tried to update my 4.1.2. Each time it told me that it could not find something, which was not in the proper place. I know I never moved the App from the Applications folder, and I don't know enough to move any of the other items that the installer puts in various places. Each time it told me that I had to dismiss the message, and then…
