Microsoft Office 2008 12.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Can't install this update

I have a MacPro - MacOS 10.4.11 - MS Office 12.0.0. When I run this installer and it gets to the "Select a Destination" window, the OS volume has an exclamation mark and informs me that I can't install on the volume because "a version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume" [alert admin]

BluePhoneElite 2.0b6 (Mac OS X)

For me, V1 is better

While V2 seems to have a lot going for it, I am still using V1 mainly because it can be used as a menu only app. Unless I'm missing something, V2 prefs cannot choose to run the app from either the Dock or the Menu - just both. Also, the Call or SMS Centres can't be reached via the Dock or Menu - only with the app's menu, which has to be frontmost - not so handy. ...... and for me, the signal/battery/provider info in the menu is preferable to graphics around the icon. Sweet MIDI Player 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)

Works fine here too!

I would like to counteract the negative reviews from people who have used this app with a cracked password and then complain that it doesn't work well - The dev has made it clear on many occasions that using it with a dodgy password will make the program become unstable. Using a crack to avoid payment, then rubbishing the product (and advising other not to buy!) shows a breathtaking arrogance. As for SMP, I use it regularly - It's well laid out and simple to use. For all that it's just a midi player, it allows the user to change patches, tempo, key and completely re-mix the track - which can then be re-saved. I find it particularly useful for singers - I send 'em a midi file - they find the best key and tempo and send the updated file back to me - The song is then fully prepared on the studio DAW for them to do the vocals. Speed Download 4.1.12 (Mac OS X)

No problems here

I've been using SD for several years without problem. For me, this version downloaded, installed and works fine. Those who do have problems with crashing, really should contact support first before venting their spleen here, as the problem doesn't appear to be typical. Otherwise people may mistakenly think you are trolling with an ulterior motive ;-) [alert admin]

Native Instruments Pro-53 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

The link appears to be for a demo of Pro-53 - the last full version that I have is 3.0.1 - built 33rd November 2003 The product versions and dates do not seem to make sense. [alert admin]

copycat

erm..... Then why mention Onyx? (It would be fairer to the Dev to d/l and try out the app before reviewing it.)

Has its perks, but not worth the money

I've had no problems with the Fruit Menu Contextual Menu. I can see the main Apple CM stuff above the Fruit Menu items and other stuff below. (Automator, Enable Folder Actions, Stuffit, Toast It) If you only need to put two items in Fruit Menu, then it's probably not for you, but it's the best 10 I've ever spent.

Using Address Book? Try iAddressX

Then why are you writing a review for iAddressX here? This is an Entourage utility - having stated that iAddressX has more features and is $2.00 cheaper, you are inviting comparison between two different apps. It makes as much sense as praising an iChat add-on, in a review for a Skype utility. Are you the author of iAddressX?

Using Address Book? Try iAddressX

Before writing a review of software, it is important that to check what it actually does before offering an opinion. This app is for use with Entourage and iAddressX appears to be for Apple's Address Book.
