Saft 10.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Here's Hao Li's attitude towards his paying customers: http://haoli.dnsalias.com/Saft/Download/ [INFO] After upgrading to Leopard account, Tiger download won't work anymore (since that is the account got upgraded). Please do NOT ask me to send you this version if you do not have a Tiger account. An email regarding this problem won't be answered. Every time the OS or Safari gets upgraded, Saft stops working, requiring the download of a new version once it is updated and released. What's so ridiculous about this "policy" Hao Li imposed on his customers is that Saft 9.0.1 for Tiger 10.4.11 was released *after* the Leopard version was released, so by preventing his Leopard upgrade customers from downloading Saft 9.0.1 for the latest version of Tiger, he puts all of his upgrade customers in the position that they can't use a version of the software that they were entitled to use before upgrading. Are you confused? Join the club. What purpose does this stupid policy serve? Hao Li is an arrogant fool. Keep this in mind before you buy. [alert admin]

ADGate 3.5.1 (Mac OS X)
Avoid this developer and his products. The software is buggy. He imposes ridiculous licensing restrictions for little shareware applications and provides no customer service or support. It's really not worth the trouble. [alert admin]

Saft 10.0.1 (Mac OS X)
This pertains to Saft 9.0.1, not 10.0.1. Here's how the developer handles paying customers: once you upgrade from the Tiger version of Saft to the Leopard version, he refuses to allow you access to continue downloading the Tiger version of the software. So if there's a bug fix for Tiger, or if as in my case, I actually needed that version in the first place but was tricked into buying the Leopard version because of his completely confusing upgrade policy, Hao Li's response to his customers is: tough luck. Have you ever heard of a developer of a little shareware utility being such a hard case about licensing? It's ridiculous! Below is his dispute resolution response to PayPal when I asked him to either refund my $6 upgrade or revert my license to Tiger so I could download the version I needed. Keep in mind that this software is just a little shareware utility, small in file size. He could have easily emailed me a copy of the correct version and resolved the whole dispute in a friendly way and kept a customer, but instead he chose to lose a customer and keep my money. Also, he lied in his dispute response. The Safari for 10.4 update was available before I upgraded to Leopard. I upgraded to Leopard because I thought it was required to obtain Saft for Safari 3.0.4 with Mac OS 10.4.11. I have never been able to download a copy of the software I was actually trying to buy. He's a liar. AVOID THIS DEVELOPER AND AVOID THIS PRODUCT! Hao Li: The buyer bought Saft for Leopard (MacOS 10.5) upgraded and download it. But after a while when an new Safari was updated in Tiger (MacOS 10.4), he wanted to download that version too. The problem is that after upgrading to Leopard version of Saft, he does not have download account for Saft for Tiger (they are two different products with different source code base). As policy I can only provide manual ditribution of Saft via email if user has correct account and has problem with download. Again, the buyer does not have the right to the product he asked for. Saft 10.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Saft is a very useful piece of software, but take care when purchasing that you buy the right version. Since the recent release of Leopard, and the release of Mac OS 10.4.11 which includes Safari 3.0.4 for Tiger, Saft has split into three different versions, and the developer of Saft, Hao Li, has implemented a very arrogant, unfair, and poorly explained upgrade policy. If you are an existing customer who owns the Tiger version, you don't need to upgrade to get the Saft for 10.4.11/Safari 3.0.4 version of Saft. But if you DO upgrade so that you can download the Saft for Leopard version, then Hao Li refuses to let you download the 10.4.11 "Tiger" version - even though that version of the software is newer than the Leopard release. Are you confused reading this? Exactly. His upgrade policy is completely confusing, and his attitude is - if you upgraded to Leopard and still need to download the 10.4.11 version of Saft, then you're out of luck! [alert admin]
