Location X 2.5.2 (Mac OS X)
Works great for me. I only miss AutoLocate for non-AirPort networks: at work I don't have a wireless network, but the assigned IP address could be used instead. [alert admin]

Tracker 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Re: Dear young Kugo (aka Rixstep)
Just so that everyone can follow Rixstep's (aka Kugo) clever marketing scheme, here are the three suggesions I mailed him after buying the software and his (Rixstep's) corresponding replies. Judge yourself about the "garbage"... - add a filter to hide any readonly accesses Rixstep: Not sure what you mean here. - add a text filter like the one in Apple's log viewer Rixstep: Not at all familiar with this. - as an option, don't do an exhaustive scan of the filesystem but instead 'observe' file system changes like "fseventer" Rixstep: Yes, but then the application will _only_ work under 10.4. No matter that you can turn the option off, the executable won't link with the frameworks and methods because they don't exist. Considering perhaps 50% of all users have not upgraded to Tiger, that's really cutting them short. [alert admin]

Tracker 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This is basically a rather limited UI for the shell commands "find / -newer <some_file> -print" and "ls" Yes, it's easier to use than the CLI version, but I doubt whether it's worth $25. [alert admin]

Apani VPN Client for Nortel 3.4 (Mac OS X)
Version 3.4 works fine on Intel
Version 3.4 of Apani's VPN client for Nortel seem to work fine so far on my MacBook Pro (Intel). I was even able to send mail from Lotus Notes. [alert admin]

Apani VPN Client for Nortel 3.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

The Apani Client 3.3 is over a year old. It contains no new fixes nor does it work on Intel!. Stop wasting time with it... [alert admin]

Apani VPN Client for Nortel 3.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Don't bother with this crap...
I gave up with the Apani VPN Client: it would only allow me to download mail via Lotus Notes. I was never sucessful in sending any mail with it. In addition if I had to renew my VPN password, their client would'n tell me and I had to use Windoze to renew the password. Not having a version for the Intel Mac for over a year now convinced me that Apani doesn't deserve me as a customer... I have switched to Parallels and Proxy+ and that works orders of magnitude better! [alert admin]

Parallels Workstation 2.1b (Mac OS X)
I've just installed Window XP (from *.iso image):
- the fastest XP install I've ever seen (but forgot to measure it...)
- booting XP: 26 secs
- launching Eclipse 3.2M6 with full workspace and one editor open: 22 secs (coldstart), 8 secs (warmstart).

I see the same behavior with a Mac Book Pro. However upgrading an Intel iMac does not show this problem...

I would like to have the fseventer approach as an option: scanning the whole filesystem is just too slow.

Aha, the update isn't available if you choose "USA English". Choose any other language and an update becomes available.
