Snapz Pro X 2.1.2 (Mac OS X)

For video captures consider ScreenFlow

Snapz Pro is OK for screen captures (if you are willing to pay for something that Jing provides for free), but for screen videos ScreenFlow is more state of the art. Snapz Pro was good 4 years ago... but since then it seems to be a product in maintenance mode... [alert admin]

Apple QuickTime 7.2 (Mac OS X)

Another fix for the Rosetta problem?

Applying the 10.4.10 Combo update did not brought Rosetta back to live. However, whenever I do an OS upgrade (like reapplying 10.4.10 Combo), the image enhancement program "DxO" crashes on startup. After long googling for a solution I had found this tip http://evansweb.info/articles/2007/06/01/update_prebinding which reliably fixes the problem for me. I just did this again (to fix the DxO launch problem), and low and behold that fixed the Rosetta problem for me. I don't know whether the prebinding hack is enough to fix the Rosetta problem, or whether the 10.4.10 Combo update is required as well. [alert admin]

DxO Optics Pro 4.2 (Mac OS X)

Warning: DxO stops working after upgrading to 10.4.10

After upgrading to 10.4.10, DxO stopped working (again). I got it to work under 10.4.9 after following the http://evansweb.info/articles/2007/06/01/update_prebinding. If you don't want to do this painful procedure, just remove DxO from your disk (and your brain). You won't miss it.... [alert admin]

Does not decompress properly

After removing the .bz2 extension, the .dmg mounted properly.
