Mobster 1.3b458 (Mac OS X)
I use this all the time, and contrary to a previous comment, I've never had any problems with it timing out. But then I only have about 3000 songs in my library. As for the recommendations I get, for the most part the recommendations are pretty good. when I enter an artist for a recommendation I usually get a lot of artists that I already have or have listened to, quite a few that friends have tried to hip me to but I haven't listened to yet, and some out there stuff that I've never heard of. I've gotten a lot out of using Mobster. The one thing that I can suggest is if you haven't uploaded your xml file, do so. The more data musicmobs gets the better the results. encourage others to as well. Even if you upload your xml and never use the app again. You'll be turning regular users of Mobster on to new music. One other thing to keep in mind, Mobster is still beta. It evolves and improves on a very regular basis. It's getting neater all the time. [alert admin]

do you have a few friends that also have a more eclectic music collection? Friends that also listen to a lot of non-mainstream music? My suggestion.. you and your friends come in and take over. Upload your weird oddball music list. Throw a curveball at the recommendations that it gives back.
