Safari Debugger 2.7 (Mac OS X)
I use it to cloak my browser. I hate sites that don't even give your browser a chance before saying, no...sorry, you're not invited! Netlibrary just added this feature to their site. :oP Sorry, went on a rant. Yes, for what I need, revealing the debug menu works great. [alert admin]

Speechissimo 1.201 (Mac OS X)
A lot more natural, and can even be better... ![]()

I bought the software today (english), because I wanted to hear speechissimo's lady voice read some of my writing back to me in order to help me proof. Apple's voices get under my skin, but this voice doesn't irritate me nearly as much. There were a couple of places where her voice sped up suddenly when she was reading, and only a few pronunciations were a little off. Overall, it sounded a lot more natural than Apple's. Even though the program itself is very easy to use, I do see room for improvement. I liked how you could pick the speed of the voices, but I would have liked it better if the option was given in a 'slider' set-up. The medium was too fast, and the slow was too slow. I need something more in-between. Also, copying the text to hear it is rather tedious. One step closer, would be to integrate a control-click (or right-click, for those who've ditched the one-button mouse) feature. So perhaps you could select the text and get a pop-up contextual menu. The ability to record would also be pretty cool; but as mentioned previously, I could use my audio hijack to work around it. It would be nice to cut out that step altogether. (Using her to read over this paragraph, I discovered that I used 'coping' rather than 'copying'...so see, she is helping me already!) [alert admin]

Connectix Virtual PC 5.0.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I finally got the update...I can't really tell if it runs better or not. What I do know..after installing, my time in the menu bar is now set in military time...and I've been all through the date & time prefs. and I can't find how to set the thing back. [alert admin]

Project Timer 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
it says. I was using AtWork, but I am thinking that I am liking this better...why? 1) Your export files give both the stop&start time as well as your total time. (which was something that was important to me) 2) AutoSave! [alert admin]

I am just happy it works. My stylus for my graphire tablet didn't work right most of the time with my ibook under 9.x and I could only use the mouse. Now my pen works great (except for the eraser...but I don't care...I'm just happy to have the pen working.) The mouse works fine as usual too. [alert admin]

hooked up to one of my systems that is running system 8.1, so the tv works fine..what I have trouble with is capturing video with sound...it crashes if I experiment with different compression settings nearly every time! Sometimes I can get it to work, but I am constantly nervous and waiting for it to crash at any moment. [alert admin]
