VirtualBox 3.0 (Mac OS X)
The one good file that I did manage to load now works. I have to run the uninstall twice with a reboot in between. I think the uninstall also leaves files behind that don't work with 3.0 as well. As well, it does not install well upgrading 2.2.4. Since the dev does not use standard file locations and 'fixes' some file locations it is probably good to run the uninstall twice with a reboot. This however does not explain the 400 bad request at 98.53% when attempting to download from their site. Don't think it is an overload situation but a server reboot might clear the issue. VirtualBox 3.0 (Mac OS X)
VB 3.0 will not launch nor download fully
Someone needs to contact whoever posts for download at VirtualBox/Sun. I have been trying to download 3.0 since it was released. Either it downloads and the app will not be start (bounces once) or it will not finish a download - gets to 98.53% and then hits 400 bad requests. I have tried to get ahold of them to make them aware but so far have been unsuccesful. There is nothing wrong with my connection at all as I have no issues downloading anything else including stuff from Sun and also much larger files. There is nothing blocking this. Please correct and repost a good build or fix your download servers. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2008 12.1.2 (Mac OS X)
This did not work for me but I have tracked it down to the issue and MS should take note so they can fix their installer code. 1. Had no issues in any update to 12.1.1. 2. Removed languages files except English (you can remove them). 3. Tried the autoupdate; failed with that error message about not finding an valid install. 4. Tried downloading the dmg and tried installing; same error as in #3. 5. Install and download files were English. 6. Mounted a backup drive with a copy before language removal. 7. Autoupdate and downloaded file worked just fine on this version. 8. Copied all changes to main drive; MS 2008 works just fine. 9. Tried to run both update files against my newly updated MS 2008 (which all read 12.1.2); told me no valid installation. I was only expecting that it was already up to date. 10. MS needs to modify their installer and remove this darn bug. [alert admin]

EasyBackup 1.0 (Mac OS X)
There are many backup utilities out there for the MAC. However posting one that you can not download or demo, even if the price is 9.95, is still not a good thing. Author seems unresponsive to emails. I sent an email asking where is the demo and no reply. This is a caution due to response and no demo. Throwing away 9.95 for something that may work like crap is never a good idea and getting a refund could also be a pain. Even commerical software has demos to download or a trial can be arranged. I can recommend or saying anything else as i really have not seen anything as of yet. Once I am able I will update this post and give the author is due. [alert admin]

OutSource-XP 2.08 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
In concept, the software's purpose is a good one. However, the software has a very serious performance flaw. When running it uses 89% - 96% of all system resources, whether outlook is running or not. If Outlook is started after outsource, you end up with two outlook processes. Without outlook, outsource use almost 20 megs and with outlook only 5 megs. With the performance so high, it hangs anything else trying to run. I installed this trial on 10 workstations, laptops with minimal software with the same results. I have monitored each installation and it is outsource that is causing the problem - either bad coding or a memory leak - same diff -Bad performance. I have tried to ask the vendor a pre-sales question and they supposed have a form for this but when clicking on it, it is not accessible. I have sent the vendor the results and the issue about the form not working. This is a catch-22 situation as the vendor says on the web site he will only read/answer email from registered users (aka - people who have purchased). I guess I will not have my issue resolved and I am sure not going to pay for a product that works like crap (performance wise). Please keep in mind the features and functions of this application are very good, however not implemented properly to be useful. Beware - download and try this program but above all if your results mirror mine, please do not pay for it or at least do not pay for this before you test it. OutBack 6 is a much better choice and works just fine - at least you can talk to someone. [alert admin]

iRatchet 1.05 (Mac OS X)
iRatchet - Excellent Application 
Excellent software both in terms of quality of design, functionality, ease of use, and performance. A clear winner. I have done beta testing for the developer and he is very helpful, knowledgable, and willing to take the time to put out a great product. Modifications and fixes are fulfilled in lightening speed. A must have product and priced competatively. Take care of your business/customers, download/test iRatchet, the purchase the product. This is only an initial release. See my previous comment. I have been trying for since release to either download or install this. There is no one there to even contact. I believe either their download servers need rebooting or the build is corrupt. No one there seems to have noticed it and yours seems to be the first comment that mirrors mine. Yes, I get the error as well. It looks like their build script has gone missing and can not create the registered user zip file.
