iHearts 4.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Another mediocre hearts game for OS X. Graphics are terrible both in design and dynamics. All player cards are of a decent size except for your hand which is tiny. With the lousy graphics, its a pain to see. There are other shortcomings in this area but not worth mentioning. Assume you're back in 1980 and its an ok. As far as the game is concerned I can't really evaluate it other than give you my experience. In 5 games, I managed to take a total of 1 point. There were plenty of occasions I could have been given a point, only to constantly see the points directed at others. I threw it away due to the lousy graphics [alert admin]

TurboTax Desktop 2006 2006.00.11 (Mac OS X)
App stalls and non-responsive. Have not lost any data yet but suggest saving often. Foreign Taxes paid a mess. Basically does not work. [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.4.0 (Mac OS X)
I have a Quicksilver 2002 running 10.4.11. Upgrading from 2.1 to 2.4 prevents sleep. The Mac will cycle down then immediately cycle back on. Uninstalled 2.4 and the problem immediately went away. [alert admin]

GPSNavX 4.90 (Mac OS X)
Does not export to receiver???
My read of this software is it a good mapping package for use on a Mac. However, it will not export to a receiver. From my point of view (marine use) this makes it a non-starter. No matter how nice the UI is why in the world buy something that is essentially a standalone app? I would have a Garmin handheld that can't be supported with this app, a Mac laptop to run the app and a win machine to support the handheld. MacGPS Pro can do both. I'm not a MacGPS Pro user so no plug intended. [alert admin]

Garmin MapInstall 2.0.0.1 beta (Mac OS X)
This is typical Garmin. Its incomplete software from a company specializing in lousy interfaces, lousy customer service and proprietary products. MacGPS, plus MapTech charts plus just about any receiver you want to use. A lot less money and a more pleasant experience. I use a Garmin (marine) but would certainly have looked at other receivers had I known the above when I bought it. [alert admin]

netTunes 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)
This is a very simple to install and use app. Along the lines of SuperDuper - simple and bullet proof. Read the FAQ on Shirtpocket's discussion page if you're using a firewall and get a spinning ball -- simple fix. If you want to remotely control iTunes, this is the best I've seen. I've used a few programs on a Palm and a Windows Mobile cell phone and both were buggy and frustrating to install and use. After two days of using netTunes, its seamless, responds quickly and completely stable. Good, the Squeezebox goes in the trash where it should have gone years ago. [alert admin]

Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been using MissingSync on a Plam device for years and been nothing but delighted with it. The switch to an MS OS was probably a mistake. Win Mobile is not only an organizational, ancient looking cumbersome mess but Missing Sync has its issues as well. Sync does not work for me. It takes multiple runs to get Address book and Calendar to load. I finally put the settings on load the Mac's data only and don't bother syncing. Good enough for me. I've also had problems with the dmg's not opening and nothing but probems downloading it. If you have to go with Win Mobile, you probably need this. The question is can a Mac or Palm user ever live with Win Mobile. If you're into nostalgia, give it a try. Its like going back 20 years. Versus the OS X UI, its a joke. Versus Palm, its more stable but the UI is a total mess. [alert admin]

I used word becaused it was shoved down my throat by corporate IT departments for over 10 years. I used it today because I needed a "powerful" word processor. Instead, I'm here. This review could be 20 pages long, filled with nothing but complaints. In a word, garbage. [alert admin]

I also have a Quicksilver 2002. You might try this as it worked for me. In Activity Monitor, quit the Logitech Control Center Daemon (you might have to force quit, I forget). It will immediately re-activate itself. Restart the Mac (don't know if this is necessary but its what I did). My Quicksilver sleeps and awakes just fine now. This is after chasing the sleep problem for years.

Dowloaded it and used it for a few hours unlicensed. Works exactly as advertised. Great software. Simple to install, simple to use and appears bullet proof.

Has anyone tried the 1.4.1_beta driver (Sept 1, 2005)? Starting to look like people are abandoning M-Audio based on the zero amount of feedback since the beta driver release. I'm waiting on M-Audio before I bother updating to Tiger. Or, any cards that work (please don't suggest any USB or FW devices)?
