Scribblet 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I've only been using Scribblet for around a week and already find it helpful for storing little snippets of data/code etc while I work. The interface is clean, no-nonsense and minimal (which I like) and the menu icon is nicely unobtrusive. The only issue I have at the moment is that I cannot quit Scribblet from the Scribblet menu, instead I am forced to run Activity Monitor and 'Force Quit' from there. Would be nice to see this little blemish, in an otherwise very handy little utility, fixed. For the record, I am running Scribblet on a PPC(G4) Tiger (10.4.11) aoi [alert admin]

Lillipot 1.7 (Mac OS X)
I'm pleased to say that downloading seems to have been fixed. Sweet! :-) Thanks aoi [alert admin]

xScope 2.0 (Mac OS X)
When it comes to design work (web/graphic) xScope is my most used utility. Overall my workflow would not be as smooth or efficient without it. The new version is worth the upgrade price for 'Dimensions' alone. Excellent work. aoi [alert admin]

Code Collector Pro 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I'm forever picking up little snippets of XHTML/JS and other code from web based developer forums and the question has always been 'where to store them?' I used to paste them into a BBEdit document and access when needed, but now that I'm up to over 250 snippets of code a more evolved solution is required. That's where Code Collector Pro comes in. It does exactly what it says... 'collects code' with a minimal, no-nonsense interface which is simplicity itself. On top of the excellent syntax colour coding, the pro verion lets you categorise snippets anyway you like: (X)HTML/JS/CSS etc It's quick and easy to get your code in and out of CCP. On top of this the UK-based developer is quick to respond and offers an excellent student discount on an application which is already excellent value for money. Highly recommended and looking forward to future developments. aoi [alert admin]

Roman Theme 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
...one of the best, most flexible RW themes available. A wonderful job (with a price to match!) aoi [alert admin]

Lillipot 1.6 (Mac OS X)
Been using this app for a while and love it but recently I have not been able to download from versiontracker, and when going to the authors web site I am greeted with: 'Forbidden You don't have permission to access /lillipot/Lillipot.dmg on this server. Apache/1.3.27 Server at www.qtbridge.com Port 80' Can someone please get this sorted. Thanks aoi [alert admin]

CLIX 1.8a (Mac OS X)
Brilliant/essential Macintosh utility but...
...I constantly have probems downloading, both from versiontracker AND from the authors home page. I want to get my hands on the latest update but have been trying on and off for four weeks now with no joy! Any help/advice would be most appreciated. Thanks aoi [alert admin]

Flux 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Downloaded today and been playing around with Flux for a couple of hours. A promising start, but the interface and way of working (although fairly easy to understand) is fairly unique, as is the way of displaying the site 'internals' (a sort of CSS-structured mind map!) This is a beta version and there are some glitches, both in the generated code (W3C Validation and BBEdit shows up quite a few errors, most of which are simple XHTML syntax issues) and in the application itself (Preferences>select browser for preview caused 95% CPU to be chewed on!) Some unexpected quits here and there; and for this kind of application, fairly sluggish responses to what seem to be fairly simple functions. Would also hope to see more templates supplied with the application. The drag and drop capablilites of Flux are extremely useful and makes the application very exciting to use. The supplied templates are modern, stunning and very usable. All in all a promising start and this is an application I will be keeping an eye on. If the glitches can be sorted out I can certainly see myself making a purchase soon (hence the recommendation!) aoi [alert admin]

omnidea Rulers 1.0.136 (Mac OS X)
Great for taking onscreen measurements (DTP, web, layout etc) and is loads less expensive than other utilities of this sort. Incredibly useful. :) aoi [alert admin]

Password Repository 2.1.0 (Mac OS X)
I guess it's down to personal taste, but having tried a few password managers (free and paid-for), I plumped for Password Repository. Simple, easy-to-use interface and very stable. Does exactly what I require of it (easy to get information into and out of it.) Hope to see its continued development. aoi [alert admin]

Hi Jon, Thank you very much for the quick fix. I can now confirm that the previous issue I had with 'force quitting' is now fixed and Scribbler is now running smoothly. :-) Kind regards John

I'm a long time user of Transmit and have found my self using Cyberduck more and more due to the same issues. I prefer the overall look and UI of Transmit, but at the end of the day, functionality and reliability are what matters with an FTP and Transmit just doesn't seem to be providing this at the moment. For the record, I'm running Tiger 10.4.11/PPC. aoi

That makes both of us incorrect then as I am not the developer or in any way connected with the developer. Have you read my comments history? To say that I repeatedly post 'combative' replies to reviews that are not 100% is nonsense. I stand corrected though; yeah Goldfish also installs some additional fonts which are probably not required so fair point.

Your not installing this app because it 'decides' where to place itself? Seems a little harsh to me (you must have a seriously empty apps folder.) I admit I'm not a huge fan of installers, but all that Goldfish does is install the application and template folder in apps, and a preference file in the user library. Easy enough to remove if you decide you don't like. As for 'fascism'...have you been keeping up with global events? Regards

What version of Mac OS are you using? I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.7 (Tiger) and IATMJ runs smooth as butter. Also, very friendly support at: http://www.iamthemightyjungulator.com/ Might me worth getting in-touch if you still have problems. Kind regards John

Technically it IS advertised within versiontracker as 'freeware' but good point just the same sjk. (I admit that I hadn't actually visited the developer's site until now.) I too think it is vitally important to support the smaller software developers (particulalry when the software is as good as Butler!) AS it IS 'donationware' my own contribution shall be forthcoming. ;-) All the best aoi

Nick, I had similar problms with downloads from my own site. If your hosted on a UNIX/Apache based server, an easy way around this is to use a little .htaccess file at the root of your web directory. I am no expert myself, but found it extremely easy to set up (takes around 10 minutes!) and allows all downloads to, well, download as expected by all browsers. A useful guide can be found here http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess.shtml All the best aoi
