Adobe Fireworks CS4 10.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Need New Feedback

We need new feedback here on recent releases. Does anyone have helpful information about the latest Fireworks? I use Photoshop and Flash instead, chiefly for web work these days, and would like to know if recent releases, in your opinion, merit spending time to learn Fireworks. Thanks! [alert admin]

Find something constructive to do.

This is shameful "entertainment". [alert admin]

Pebbles 1.0 Public Beta (Mac OS X)

Launched and ran on my G5

I got it to launch and run, checked the help file for how to do things. I got some results, but it is obvious that the quantity and variety of your source images are very important to getting attractive results (my couple-dozen set of pics made a pretty homely mosaic). I don't have time to explore right now, but it is an interesting app! A good start -- good luck with this app! [alert admin]

Art Text 1.0.6 (Mac OS X)

Won't copy app to disk

Odd problem I'm having with this mounted .dmg: it refuses to let me drag copy either the app or the .rtf file to my hard drive (as in dragging the app to the Applications folder). This may be an OS thing, but this is the first time a .dmg refused to let me drag the app to the Applications folder. Is it possible there is something about this particular .dmg file? Thanks [alert admin]

K3DSurf 0.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Won't run

Description looks intriguing, but won't run -- double-click, icon animates a little, then.... nothing. Quad-core PPC, OS 10.4.8 PS: Did the same thing on my MacBook Pro, but I notice you don't list Intel above for 10.4 [alert admin]

ZeusDraw 1.0 (Mac OS X)

It's a start

There are some interesting ideas and features, but of course lots of places to grow, too. (It's 1.0, of course) Some of the methods that vary from the "usual" aren't clearly "better" to me, but ease of use is better than some of the more intense pro draw apps. I wanted to mention that on my machine the type tool's "Creating Font Images" dialog box stops making prgress about 90% across and stays there. I'm guessing that some old font of mine is choking it -- maybe it could skip a font after a certain time and just go on? I can still make type, but the dialog stays up until I quit, to start again the next time the type tool is selected. Draw apps are a crowded market, but with development and good marking, who knows... I wish you luck. [alert admin]

Ho ho (not a comment on the app's merits)

There are a lot of programmers' editors out there, but this one has the funniest name! (If perhaps not the wisest, in terms of marketing: "forget it"? ...Well, got my attention, didn't it?)) I wish them luck. [alert admin]

AKVIS Chameleon 4.3 (Mac OS X)

It's a Plug-in

They should mention that this is a PLUG-IN (as in Photoshop plug-in), so you need to own an application that uses plug-ins. It is used like a filter to affect a selection that is over another image by adjusting and merging it in an interesting way. It seems to do only this one thing, with no settings to vary, though, and I'm not sure it justifies such a high price... Akvis has other plug-ins on their website. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 7.0 (Mac OS X)

Thanks for wasting my precious time

All I can find through this link is more ad copy at their website; their online store is only selling 6 at the moment... If anybody finds the actual product, I'd like to know where it is. [alert admin]

Need New Feedback

OK, I'll give it more of a try. I've been using Photoshop for 20 years (or so) and Flash for nearly 10, but I'm always ready to use a tool more suited to the job. (And nowadays, that job includes a lot of web work.) Thanks for the info!

Why Pay $8.00 when you can do this for free?

Hey, man, thanks for the tip! This means I have a memento copy of my son in a video clip on national network news that would otherwise be un-save-able. I tried (and bought and like) Videobox, but it couldn't save the video this time. Thanks again!

Come on, folks.

I agree with AlanBCombs. If the description said that right at the beginning, many of us (who like to use Versiontracker to discover new and useful applications) would have saved the time of puzzling it out.

Thanks for wasting my precious time

Yes, thank you, Ringo. I was trying to warn others of the problem. About when I posted, they added all this amazon-link stuff -- I guess others saw the confusion and corrected it.
