Apple iTunes 7.0 (Mac OS X)
Well, this is iTunes, so it can't be bad... But there are a few things I didn't like: -there is no more Acqua feel -the idea of the artwork view is good, but it's no easy to use: for example, I have some songs from an artist, but I don't want to waste my time on putting every song to an album. maybe I'm crazy, but I want it. Now, it views every song from an unknown album as an album.. this wastes space and simplicity! -some people were unhappy because this new blue icon: it's true, we risk some confusion in the Dock, but you only have to take the iTunes.icns from the application contents and replace it with the old one.. easy to do, but also boring.. -the Command-1, Command-2 way to find the itune window or the equaliser doesn't work... another time, you waste you time on doing something that before you have no need to do. -the performance of importing music has slowed: well, I'm not sure of that but I think that for all PPc users this will not be the last time: Apple is probably optimizing all his softwares for the intel Macs... our architecture is dying... -THIS is a problem: installing this version, I read that it requires QT 7.1.3 for music Store videos. I don't mind, I don't buy videos from iTunes Music Store, so I installed. but SURPRISE, my videos (not from music store) play no long: I double-click on them and... nothing!! Now, there are two reasons becausa I don't want to download Quictime 7.1.3: 1) I don't want to download a 50MB installer every time Apple change single byte in QT: it's possible that we can't have an update of 3-4MB??? 2)For some reasons, QT 7.1 changed something in libstdc++ and now it make crash my MacMAME.. so i don't want to try till they fix it Ah, when we will have OGG support? HandBrake 0.7.1 (Mac OS X)
I've encoded about 100 films with this softwares, they're all perfect on my 28" TV! All in one step. Good job for the queue! The only other way I know is MacTheRipper and then FfmpegX, they are good but you waste your time.. The only missing tool is converting only audio, for example for music DVD, but I use D-vision [alert admin]

This software is almost perfect from 0.6.x... Don't open some wmv files, but I bet it's because this format is close. Why they stay with these pre1 versions? Ah, nice idea the progress bar under the video! [alert admin]

I downloaded iTunes5 one week ago. I have Mac OS X 10.3.9 and I liked iTunes 4.8, but the UI of this new version is so poor and ugly... The differences between the two versions don't seem big: there's no new format support, it's all like before. I don't see where are the changes needed to justify a major release... I never seen Tiger, but if this look is new Apple's choice, the only thing I can say is that I'm sad of this. The star is only because iTunes 4.x worked very well and this isn't changed. Now, I don't like iTunes5 and I wish to return to 4.8, but I can't find the installer for this version on my Mac and I don't want to re-install Mac Os X, so where can I find this installer? Please, somebody help me... [alert admin]
