Mellel 2.0.5 (Mac OS X)
I am rarely moved to write a review until at least after one month of trying a product. I must say, though, I like this app very much. I have been using Word and Mariner Write for a long time. But nothing tops Mellel for unicode work. I need to write and read documents in different languages using different keyboards. Mellel opens everything perfectly. I also like the fact that I can read and import all of the documents I created using the other programs I mentioned. I don't use a lot of styling in my text, so the issues that others have raised about exporting don't really affect me as much. As a college professor, I need to write articles for publication, and Mellel fits that bill perfectly. I like the nearly intuitive feel of the tools and the palette. One thing I found lacking was the help index. At first I could not figure out the list function, so I looked up "bullet" in the index. The index did not know what I was talking about. Maybe a little more leeway or cross-referencing there will help in a future release. Still, for the price ($39 after the holidays), I can't hold that against the author. I would highly recommend this program to anyone with a Mac. All I can say is, "WOW! Where were you guys when I was writing my dissertation?" [alert admin]

Gradekeeper 5.6.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
As a college professor, I really like Gradekeeper. It gives me a nice format in which I can get grades back to my students every four weeks or so to let them know how they are doing in my course. It's very intuitive to use and it doesn't bog you down with tons of bells and whistles that you never need. I have been using it since before version 5.4 and it just keeps getting better. The one thing that I wish were possible was to have multiple screens open at the same time. Even without that one feature, though, I think this app is awesome and I have already highly recommended it to everyone on my campus who uses MACs. [alert admin]

Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.5.1 (Mac OS X)
I have been using Now Up-to-Date since it first came out all those years ago, and I will continue using it until they stop making it. I don't use 24-hour format, so I can't address the problems others are experiencing there. But as an individual user, I personally have not found a better, more intuitive app on the market...and I've looked. I would recommend this product very highly to anyone looking for something straightforward and ready to rock right from the gate. And even though the company warned me that I might experience problems under Panther, I never experienced one. To me, regardless of what others might say, this app's a keeper! [alert admin]

Debt Minder 1.8.5 (Mac OS X)
I really hesitate before sending money on anything. This App is worth every penny, though. It's fairly intuitive in design, comes with a tutorial for extra help, and the author's response to feedback is great! I'd highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking to bring his/her finances in order and keep them there. Clearly an indispensible tool!!! [alert admin]

WeatherPop Advance 1.7 (Mac OS X)
sometimes will get sun icons, however, for the nightly forecast when it is supposed to be clear. Hopefully, that can be addressed in the 2.0 version. Even with the flaw, though, it still is my favorite weather program. [alert admin]
