Embed the message id or message identifying information in the generated url directly. Then you could move them around and have them still work. [alert admin]

Used the update button from within the application, chose to download but was brought to a missing page. Then went to their web site and downloaded and installed. Synchronize button non operational. Synchronize menu item triggers a sync but no events were synchronized. Checked the console - realized that my password had changed (my company forces a change every 3 months). Groupcal needs to interpret error codes and present dialog notifying user rather than silently doing nothing. Once the password was changed sync proceeded without error. Note that iCal will be quit while the sync happens. I can project all sorts of issues around this - what if you restart it while a sync is happening, what if you are working in iCal when groupcal decides to do its periodic synchronization. Release notes, as usual, are inadequate. For instance change that has iCal quit for sync is not mentioned. Although it is mentioned on web site that this is not final Tiger solution, no note is made of what is missing, or what will be fixed/enhanced in 3.0. (they mention that it will use sync services, but this information of no value to me as a user without telling me what it will help me with). I am already bristling at the thought of having to shell out more money for bug fixes. I have received one invitation and accepted it, and sent one out. They did appear on my outlook calendar. (Good) I'm happy that it seems to function. We'll see what happens over the next few days. I still can't recommend the product but may change my assessment if it seems stable for a while, and if they are responsive to fixing bugs. [alert admin]

Doesn't work for Tiger. There was no warning or notice from developers that this would happen. Considering that this is marketed to people who rely on it for calendaring in a corporate environment, this is unacceptable. I just started missing meetings when it silently failed. Before this had persistent problems with too many threads and memory being used which at some point would also cause it to silently stop working. Despite detailed bug reports and offers to spend extra time debugging this myself (I'm a developer too) this bug was never fixed. And I have asked them repeatedly to keep us customers up on what is happening, such as when important bugs are detected and new features are released. While not spending the effort to fix known bugs, they did have the time to add a different (and obtrusive) licensing system. So there is no choice at this point other than to consign them to the category of incompetent and inconsiderate. Note their last note "I estimate that we'll have something more to tell you in a week or so" was more than 5 weeks ago. [alert admin]

True, this version is harder to configure than previous ones. On the other hand it offers protections and actions that no other product does. Particular attention has been made to not send cookies that can be used to track you in a number of situations that other's don't even try to handle. And machete lets you completely rewrite pages, letting have back those web pages that used to be great and are now full of distraction. If you've been surfing a lot you've noticed that there are many more ways to invade your eyeballs than the old banner gif. Finally there is a tool that gives you the tools to really control what you see. Ahead of its time - let the new features sink in and mature with practice. Regarding support - developer response is excellent. If you are having trouble, register for the 10 bucks and send him email. Satisfaction guaranteed. One point off support/documentation, since although support is outstanding, documentation could be more thorough. One point off ease of use not for lack of effort, but to acknowledge these are new tools and some just take some effort to get your head around and developer needs some experience to figure out how to best present them to users. you! Now I can stop running x-windows everytime I need an emacs. One question: Anybody know a way to remap the modifier keys? I am used to control being where command is, and meta being where option is. Also, some command keys are trapped by osx, like command-h for hide. [alert admin]

You clearly haven't read the reviews. The product had problems even in advertised conditions and customer support was always a problem. I'll be sure to try the latest version, but this company has some serious work ahead to earn back my and others respect and trust.

Given that they didn't follow up on their last response (we should know something in a week - 5 weeks ago) I don't have much confidence. Hopefully I'm wrong.
