IP Scanner 1.7.2 (Mac OS X)
It looks like this app is a GUI for an older app called nbtscan (http://www.inetcat.net/software/nbtscan.html) with a nice "Hardware Identification" feature. 8 times out of 10 the GUI tools have less functionality than their command-line counterparts. You basically give up versatility for the ease of use and "pretty" output. [alert admin]

Cocoa Packet Analyzer 0.41 (Mac OS X)
I opened this little guy and no UI? Does it capture packets or just display them (do I need to use ethereal or other to actually grab the packets)? [alert admin]

Why buy? free apps-a-plenty for this.. My favorite is WallSaver: http://www.coolosxapps.net/2007/05/29/wallsaver-run-screen-saver-at-your-desktop/ or use good 'ol command line. [alert admin]

AppCleaner 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This .app is... fantastic. Great UI, Easy to use with just enough options. For those of you (like me) who like to try out all kinds of .apps to see whats good/hot/not this little ditty lets you clean up... fast. Drop the .app U want gone, and this guy will find the files associates with it (like the .prefs etc....) and nuke those as well. Kudos.. nice job [alert admin]

Porticus 1.0b2 (Mac OS X)
Its a nice idea to have a GUI for MacPorts. Its also a good idea to make sure they work. I am not getting on the developer, rather on anyone they had QA this. on my 17" MBP it goes through the motions, but doesnt actually DO anything. None of the Ports I have installed show up, and it cannot even rsync (my netstat shows it opens a connection, then closes it right away). Giving an .app root access makes me a little jittery, when my HD does a whole bunch of R/W and nothing happens on a GUI, and there are no logs for me to look at, I get a little freaked out. I dont want to discourage any development, I think its great when new apps pop up for MACs. DRIVE ON HARD CHARGER!! (but have people check it out for you) [alert admin]

Password Generator 1.0 (Mac OS X)
It does exactly what it says. VERY easy to use and generates up to 99 chars. The only change I would make would be to change the Special Letters option to Special Characters or something like that. Not a biggie, and the app works well. [alert admin]

This app is now fixed. Works well!! It found all of the ports I have put in, showed me the 3K+ I dont have etc... I am still a sucker for command line, but this GUI is nice. TY, and well done....
