Mailings 1.9.26 (Mac OS X)

Reliable, configurable AND easy to use!

I initially tried Serial Mail, but that's not a reliable solution for sending thousands of formatted messages - let alone how professionally will the messages look in the end (part of formatting lost, only plain addresses in the "To:" field). Mailings gave me all the features I needed. It includes recipient name in the "To:" field, integrates nicely with Address Book, supports both HTML and plain text alternatives (and has many more options I haven't used but they may come handy later). And it has worked very reliably. I got it setup in less than a hour (including the purchase). [alert admin]

Serial Mail 3.10 (Mac OS X)

Nice, but certainly NOT a business-class solution

Serial Mail seemed nice and simple and it probably is, but it is not a business-class solution. It can't include sender name in the "To:" header, it is quite slow (for large amounts of HTML messages) and relies on Mail to send messages. I had to adjust Mail settings and even them my HTML message I have prepared in Mail lost part of its formatting (i.e. it did not turn in the plain text, but things like indentation were lost). After purchasing it and playing for a while I found out that I can't really use it for sending a well-formatted letter to a large number of customers. (Again, if you use it for a smaller number of recipients and/or if you use plain text and/or don't need names to appear along with the recipient's address, it may be Ok for you.) I finally bought Mailings which costs $25, you can try it out for free without limitations (except a time period), and it's actually simpler to use and gives you a more complete and reliable solution. That's a product actually worth its cost. [alert admin]

Kill Monty 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Great game, works well even on Intel

The game hasn't been released as a Universal binary but it works fine on Intel (the launch is just a bit longer). However I'd love to see a version with improved graphics resolution that would automatically turn the music off if it's already playing in iTunes. [alert admin]

Amua 0.5.6 (Mac OS X)

Really liked it - but doesn't work anymore

The current version of Amua (which is more than a year old) is no longer compatible with last.fm. What a shame, such a great player. Now I have to use the official bloatware:(. [alert admin]

Tomato Torrent 1.5 (Mac OS X)

The most user-friendly torrent client on the Mac

Great, easy to use, simple. And it has Mac look-and-feel unlike most other torrent clients. [alert admin]

iCab X 3.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Great! (...and I hope it'll be even better.)

Finally a final release! Seems to be stable so far and works nice even on my Intel Mac. I'm a long time iCab-fan and I completely agree with [Benjamin]. I'd just like to see some interface (and perhaps speed) improvements too (that's why I give only 4 stars for ease of use and quality/stability). It's still better than for instance Opera that has a completely non-Mac look and feel but not as perfect as Safari in terms of GUI and percieved performance. [alert admin]

Blank Screen Saver 1.1.3 (Mac OS X)

Exactly what I needed...

...but it should perhaps be better advertised that it can be used for dimming the screen ("blank" doesn't suggest dimming and dimming is rather translucency than transparency). [alert admin]

Mail Attachments Iconizer 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)

The "free tip" actually misses how Iconizer works

Problem is that viewing attachments inline in the messages by default (that's what Apple Mail does) often takes time and creates unnecessary clutter when composing a new message. Note that displaying a large PDF, EPS or too man photos can freeze Mail for quite a while. If you received attachments like this often, you would know what this plug-in is good for. With Mail Attachment Iconizer attachments are displayed (and rendered) inline only if you explicitly choose so. (Read the description above for further details.) [alert admin]

iCab X 3.0b280 (Mac OS X)

A Powerful Browser

I started with iCab on an old Mac with OS 8. When I switched to Mac OS X I tried Safari, Camino and other popular browsers which had much better rendering engines at the time. I stuck to iCab because it offered the richest feature set, but had to use Safari for lots of websites, iCab couldn't render properly. Now iCab is back, with better rendering engine, compatible with all the new standards. I think I'll give Safari a long break again. [alert admin]

Smultron 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)

Finally an opensource editor with Mac look & feel!

It's nice, compact, easy to use and yet it has quite a lot of features for a first release. And I like the name and the icon too;). [alert admin]

I have to agree on the price...

Owners of the previous version can either use the new version with the basic setup which still gives them more functionality than version 1.0 at no additional charge, or upgrade their license for only $8.99. In this case you never have to pay the full price. -- Adam Nohejl - Lokiware

$15 is extreme

Dear roorooroo, thank you for feedback on the software and its price. I increased it because the new version has new valuable features that have very often been requested by users of version 1.x, but it may be very well the case that you are happy with the way Mail works by default. If you have any ideas about how the software could be improved or want to further discuss the price, please contact me. However, I…

Check whether you have time and date set up properly. (This is most likely the cause.)

Installer is ok

I've had the same problem and it wasn't caused by the installer itself, but by a known bug in my version of Stuffit Expander which damaged installer's permissions. Try updating your Stuffit Expander. AFAIK the installer is OK.
