Audio Mid Recorder 3.97 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
This program is crap. It is crippleware at it's most nasty. Your "trial" period amounts to a single 60 second recording! What the hell can you do with that? With so many so called features, what are you going to be able to tell with a measly 1 minute recording? What is this guy trying to hide? That it doesn't really work or outside of a recording the other "features" are useless? And it ain't worth the $30 the idiot programmer is asking for. This guy is living in a fantasy world. Do me a favor and don't post crap like this. It insults our intelligence and wastes our time. If you really think you have something to offer, why not a 10 day or 1 month trial? What a bloody joke. 533soft Mp3 Recorder 1.8 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
Tried every type of set up but cannot get a sound file with anything. Just empty files. VERY little help from the help file. No tutorials and very simplistic help. No details. [alert admin]

GIFfun 4.0 (Mac OS X)
Works ok, but VERY clunky and missing GUI
What I put into it comes out ok, but it is VERY hard to use and not very friendly when you do figure out what to do. When you ask it to open a folder it doesn't, it just sits there. You have to quit the program and start new, and then only drag and drop the folder into the work window. The items under the GIF menu don't work: NEW does nothing at all, I get no new work pane. ADD IMAGE and LOAD FOLDER ask you (after a long wait) for the file/folder but then do nothing with them. Why? I noticed that in the list of "Things to Do" is adding a GUI. This would be much nicer. Also, the "help" files are very technical and are hard to understand for us laypeople! Good start, but needs a lot of tweaking. [alert admin]

Speak To Me 1.3 (Mac OS X)
This is an amusing little app, but you could concievably do this with a text editor and just get the computer to speak it. This simply neatens it all up into one package, instead of opening Appleworks, speech etc. Don't know what you could use it for other than silly fun? Perhaps a good app for speech impaired people. Maybe practical jokes, i.e. phone a friend and freak them out? Recommend? Yeah, sure it's a fun little thing. [alert admin]

DropCompress 1.4 (Mac OS X)
Ok, I downloaded this and it seemed to work, but the files I tried it on seemed to only compress hardly at all. They went from 4.6M to 4.5M! That's a measly POINT ONE MEG! I am a newbie when it comes to this compressing files area, but shouldn't this compress one HELL of a lot more? Hardly seems worth it. I want to send my sister some funny videos via email, but they are both huge (4.6M each) Any suggestions? Thanks! [alert admin]

GimmeSomeTune 0.1.72 (Mac OS X)
This is a great idea! I hate having to slog through a bunch of open windows to find out which tune is playing! I like this. The only problem is that I can't find any pref's or controls! I kinda works in the background and I don't know were the controls are! It just downloaded the app into my safe folder and didn't seem to unzip or anything. Anyone know how to control it? MT Space 0.2b (Mac OS X)
Used on OS10.3.9 and controls/visual flaky
Just downloaded it and tried it on my eMac (OS10.3.9 using iTunes 5.0.1) and it was funky till the planet squished into what I would call an "equal sign" i.e. = and the corona was simply a "wire" racing around the equal sign. At this point the only control that would work was the "change colour" (hotkey: h). Every once and a while the image would change back to the planet but within 30 seconds would collapse into the equal sign! I know this is beta so go back and see for yourself. When it was working it was kinda funky and hypnotic..... [alert admin]

This Version Has Poor CLUT Management
Has anyone found a solution to this? I made a nice GIF my first time using it for a banner at a site I'm a member at, and after I saved it, ALL the colour was replaced by greys. Not just colours, but the blacks were all grey too. I can't seem to fix it in any way. The colour palettes just don't work.

"Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. (There are no plans to support Mac OS X 10.3.)"
You know what? A tool is a useful thing, which you are NOT! Why is it that every quarter now, we have to upgrade to the next versions. Now with the Intel chips even the latest stuff doesn't work. Apple is starting to act like Microsoft in that they every time the have the slightest iteration in any of the OS you have to upgrade now, or else not be able…
