I really don't like applications that try to phone home without my permission. First it asks permission to control Skyp and then it just phones home. I had to change my Skype password. Yes, I know that that could be a version check, but I'd prefer to be safe. [alert admin]

Barcode Toolbox 3.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Although the software has not been updated for over a year it (surprisingly) appears to work just fine with the latest Illustrator CS3. [alert admin]

It's executable contains a string "http://www.mybdesign.com/itm/images/icon_notify.png" which returns a big widget icon (it's not shown anywhere in widget) if fetched by browser. It could be a perfect place to send some private information to server by using POST or GET methods. I would be glad if someone could confirm or dispel suspicion. Be warned, you'd better block outgoing connections of this app!
