OmniWeb 5.1.1 beta 4 (Mac OS X)

Way too many crashes ...

Feature set is great. Looks good. But it crashes more and more (5-10 times a day - every day) .... and I swear this latest version is slower than ever before. Considering how great Omni-Outliner and Omni-Graffle are, this is a real let-down in its current state. [alert admin]

Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Suggest you do not install 7.0.2 if you use Virtual PC with GPS

The 'upgrade' stops me being able to connect to a Garmin GPS device via a USB-Serial adaptor. Have gone back to 7.01 - which seems to work fine for me under 10.4.1 (with exception of warning that Virtual Switch isn't on - which seems to have no consequence for my set-up). [alert admin]

VersionTracker Widget 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Can't log in

Followed the instructions to the letter as far as I can see and it still don't work with VT Pro. Whether logged in or not to the application and website, the widget just gets me to a web page that says: Cannot Load Address The name of the web server is missing from the address 'https:secure.versiontracker.com'. Any ideas? [alert admin]

Final Scratch 1.5.3 (Mac OS X)

AAC support well overdue

Great programme. Latest update beautifully stable. Frustrating having to convert those preotected iTunes AAC files to mp3 before mixing though. [alert admin]

NoteTaker 2003 1.6.6 (Mac OS X)

Fantastic

Been testing NoteTaker and NoteBook side by side for the past few weeks. Both great programs, but the latest release of NoteTaker is far superior. The "Library" drawer enabling easy access and organisation of multiple notebooks; the superb audio/voice-note recorder function; templates and categories, etc. Without in any way turning into a bloated MS style monster, NoteTaker is absolutely packed with userfriendly features. An essential item. What could make it even better? (i) Integration with NovaMind, and perhaps (ii) Allowing for free positioning of entries anywhere on the page like the new MS OneNote [alert admin]

Circus Ponies NoteBook 1.2v170 (Mac OS X)

NoteBook vs. NoteTaker

The concept behind NoteBook is excellent and opens up a whole new range of Mac functionality. However, it is very similar to a rival product called NoteTaker. After giving both an intensive test drive, I have to say that the latest (1.6.6) release of NoteTaker is FAR superior - in terms of functionality, features, ease of use, configurability, aethetics, speed, etc. Not that NoteBook is bad - in many ways it rocks. Its just that NoteTaker does everything it does and more and just looks that much better at the same time. [alert admin]
