Stella 1.4.2b (Mac OS X)
The Application StellaOSX Unexpectedly Quit
This latest version quits on me -- at first I thought it was the SDL libs (the aliases were all broken in the package, so I re-linked them) but even after fixing the SDL libs, I got the same result. All my other SDL software works fine; running OS X 10.3.8 on a G3. [alert admin]

MacMAME 0.87b (Mac OS X)
For those with gamepad issues...
Check this thread on the MacMAME discussion board... http://www.bannister.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=26;t=003781 There is also another one that discusses cleaning your prefs etc. to get lr/ud to work correctly. [alert admin]

Name that iTune! 1.6 (Mac OS X)
Neat Concept... would be even better with...
...the ability to grab tunes from selectable parts of the ITMS... I've thought of writing such an app myself, but never got around to it. [alert admin]

OSXPM 1.0.3.5 (Mac OS X)
I was just checking the ratings, and realised that this has never been rated! There have been apps since this one was created that contain some of its functionality (like desinstaller), but this one handles installing, uninstalling, and creating 3 different package formats! Definitely a must-have app for managing your install packages. [alert admin]

sixtyforce 0.8.0 (Mac OS X)
Well, Sixtyforce is somewhat playable on my G3 400 with a ATI Rage 128 card. However, it really requires a computer that can handle Quartz Extreme if you want it to run properly; an 800Mhz G4 with a 16MB video card is definitely a low-end recommendation. [alert admin]

FLACer 1.1 (Mac OS X)
It appears to me that the author has listened to your feedback... the software now appears to be available free of charge, and looks to be a great wrapper. [alert admin]

BitPlayer 1.1 (Mac OS X)
This player shows real promise! Nice work :) As for the feature request, here's a slightly more challenging one: How about adding video input (à la HackTV or BTV) that could be used for DV Camcorders, TV Tuners, QuickCams, etc.? [alert admin]

DMS2ADF 1.0 (Mac OS X)
a bit of information to the rather sparse product description: Commodore Amiga hardware emulators (like MaxUAE for OS X) use virtual disks in place of the old floppy disks used by a real Amiga. These are normally in "ADF" format (Amiga Disk File), but some can be found in "DMS" format. I suspect this is a utility designed to convert DMS format images to ADF images which can be read by MaxUAE. [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 2.0.4 (Mac OS 9)
mentioned in a few places that this version might support OGG/Vorbis... anyone know for sure? [alert admin]

What the previous commenter is trying to say is the following: OS 8.6 does not run on modern Macs. Because of the amount of processing power needed to actually use a GBA emulator, any GBA emulator written for a computer that would run OS 8.6 would be virtually unplayable. About the only option for a computer that would run both, would be a G3 500Mhz computer, and even on that the framerate would be…

RE:Crippleware nagware, suckware
RockNES is freeware with all functional parts present -- if you want to add on extra bits, you can also download Emulator Enhancer which is shareware (not nagware) which adds extra video modes, gamepad support, and other goodies to *all* of Bannister's freeware emulators. Where you start getting "crippleware" is when you try using pirated software codes with his Emulator Enhancer product -- and that's only on old versions, and only affects the enhancements,…

Use ffmpegX or MPEG2Works to convert formats; this product only creates VCDs; it doesn't transcode video formats. Personally, I think that's a good thing, as it allows people to use whatever transcoding software they want.

Actually, with iTunes scripting you can set where in the song you want to start playing... I'd suggest grabbing the length of each song and starting it in the middle; would make guessing a bit more of a challenge since most people remember the beginnings and endings of songs.

Just a note: if you are using gzipped rom images, I have discovered that different gzip programs handle the internal name of the ROM differently; VBA only recognizes the standard format. Try decompressing your images, and ensuring they end with .gba, .gbc, .sgb, or .gb, depending on what type of ROM you're running... this will fix the majority of problems people find when failing to open a verified ROM. Also, command-line gzip works correctly for…

Also, if you want a free WYSIWYG editor for OS X, use Mozilla Composer; it does WYSIWYG, WYSIWYM, and source view. However, source editors are much more powerful for the serious web page composer.

RE: didn't do anything for me :
My guess is you've been hit by the Stuffit Bug: Upgrade to the latest version of Stuffit Expander 8 to "fix" this problem.
