VersionTracker Widget 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Can't login

I can't seem to get it to recognize my Pro account, no matter how much I click "User login" then "reload preferences." Nothing happens, and I don't get a search bar. Help? [alert admin]

Postfix Enabler 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)

It Just Works.

Yes, I know, I thought $10 for a one-trick-pony was a bit steep too. But...it's not. I messed around with Postfix documentation and tutorials all day, and could not get the thing to work properly. So, after realizing it was probably going to take me a better part of a week to learn enough about UNIX and Postfix to get it working, I gave in and shelled out the $10. Boy, was it worth it. Five minutes after I downloaded the program, I had a fully functional mailserver working on my Mac. The online documentation and program interface could be a little clearer--I'm lucky I spent so much time reading Postfix docs, so I could understand better what Postfix Enabler was doing. But really, it does what a Mac program should do...It Just Works. [alert admin]

Excellent product

I wish that either a) there were more options for default timer periods, or b) there was a way to make the timer not start immediately when you select a default timer period, to make it easier to set the timer for non-default times. But that's a very minor gripe. Near-perfect product. [alert admin]

Use Missing Sync

AvantGo works wonderfully with Missing Sync (4.0 or later)'s integrated AvantGo conduit for OS X. [alert admin]

Worth Having

An excellent piece of software that I, as a college student, wouldn not want to live without. It is very similar to DueYesterday (so much so that it seems certain that they are based on the same code), but superior to it in several ways. It's not perfect--for one, there's no OS X conduit for the optional subscription online portion--but it does its job well. If you want a free student planner, try DueYesterday. If you're willing to shell out a few bucks, 4.0Student is the best I've found. [alert admin]

Bones 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Good try

A really good try. However, the interface is far too unintuitive for such a simple application—you should not have to read the manual to use a dice-roller. Also, although it <i>can</i> drop the lowest for character generation, you cannot save the "drop the lowest" option with the set, limiting its usefulness. I look forward to version 2.0, which may even be worth paying for. [alert admin]

Use DiceX

Won't do "drop the lowest" for character generation. Use DiceX. [alert admin]

Arg. You're too late. He's taken down the site, from where (reputedly) he had the source code available. Perhaps you can find someone who has it. This link might be helpful: <http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/misc/BidRequests/ShowBidRequest.asp?lngBidRequestId=437354>

There IS a (half-) Carbonized version of Rapscallion available at http://rapscallion.co.uk. It's certainly the best OS X MUD client available.

4.5 Stars

Just because it's a prefpane does not mean that it is always resident in memory. Prefpanes don't work like cdevs. Synergy operates via a background application, and can be quit from its icon in the menu bar, or from the prefpane.

Uh, no.

True. But Atheism is a religious belief, and so deserves to be included in the discussion of religion. Classifing atheism as "not a religion" deprives atheists of this right.
