Garden of Coloured Lights 1.01 (Mac OS X)
It's a very nicely-executed game. I especially like the sword-type weapon. But I think it's a bit hard, as after 30 minutes of playing I still haven't cleared the 1st level on Normal. The various bars and indicators are also a bit mysterious, and I have found no way of telling how damaged I am. Finally, my avatar is so small and gray in comparison with everything else it can be a bit hard to spot. [alert admin]

One Key 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)
I feel compelled to point out that you get the same features and more for free with Xkeys. To be fair, it's not as well integrated as OneKey, but it is free. [alert admin]

Xkeys 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)
On the Installer asking for "Fkey Listener"
If you are installing Xkeys for the first time, the installer will pop up a window asking you to locate "Fkey Listener". Simply close this window when it appears, and Xkeys will install fine. Also note that Xkeys installs into your Utilities folder! [alert admin]

Xkeys 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)
Xkeys compatible with OS X 10.3.2
Note that while Xkeys crashes under Mac OS X 10.3.0 and 10.3.1, it works fine under the newest version. So if you update, everything should work fine again. [alert admin]

You've succeeded in making a game I can't allow myself to buy. I know I'd play it so obsessively that my schoolwork would suffer and die. [alert admin]

Xkeys 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Please email me about problems!
If you come across any kind of problem or bug while using Xkeys, please send me an email at feedback@zarkonnen.com . I understand the need to ask and warn others about any potential problems on Versiontracker. But whenever I see a mention of a bug in a comment or a review I get fairly frustrated, because the information there is usually insufficient for me to track the problem down. So if you want to have your problems with Xkeys solved, email me. Please. I can and will help. [alert admin]

Haxial Benchmark 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Good, but what does the data mean? ![]()

The application is easy and straightforward to use. Even if you intensely dislike Haxial's approach to GUI you probably won't be bothered by it much, because there's not much user interface to get annoyed about. The problem here is that there is no way to know what the scores mean - there is no comparison data, unlike as with the benchmarks Norton Utilities provides. (provided?) So ideally, Haxial should include a number of comparison benchmarks in the documentation. Other kinds of benchmarks would also be interesting (hard disk, graphics card), though maybe that is outside the scope of what this application seeks to provide. [alert admin]

Enigmo 1.0.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
puzzle games, but I really liked this one. The only negative thing I can think of is that the music is a bit annoying at times. [alert admin]

Chaos Antidote 1.1.2 (Mac OS 9)
the case, letterten, why don't you send me an email and describe what happened? I can only fix the problems when I get told what they are. (FYI, I tested it under several machines running 9.2.2 and it never crashed.) [alert admin]

Don't worry. It will eventually have a GUI. Right now, I'm just concentrating on the technical aspects at the moment. The reason being that once the GUI is added, making changes to the game engine means a lot more effort, as the GUI then has to be updated to match the internal changes.

I would very much appreciate it if you could send me an email (david.stark@swissonline.ch), detail the incident and give me some background information: Did you upgrade from a previous version? Does the same thing happen again when you try launching Xkeys again? What version of OS X do you use?
I'd very much like to fix this problem before it affects more people.

fn key problem for PowerBooks & iBooks?
Unfortunately, I have not yet found any way to make Xkeys change the way the fn key works. I've poked around in Carbon and Cocoa command references, but haven't found anything. If anybody knows of a way to do this by software, I'd be very thankful if you'd contact me. -David Stark (Xkeys Developer)
