Apple MacBook Pro SMC Firmware 1.3 (Mac OS X)
Downloaded and installed quickly without incident. System *seems* to go for longer periods without the fan kicking on. That is completely subjective, though. MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz, OSX 10.5.7 [alert admin]

OnyX 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I've used Onyx for several years without a single problem. Don't get me wrong, if you are a novice, or careless or simply push buttons without knowing what they do, I'm certain that you can damage your system, and rightly deserve the consequences. The problem with this comment is that there are NO facts or descriptions to back it up, no explanation of what was done via Onyx, and no supporting material. I think that this is just a flame comment by a competitor or troll to damage the reputation of a superb application. If you use Onyx knowledgeably and correctly, it is a great tool, and you certainly can't beat the price. RTFM!, and don't clear system, font, application, or kernel caches, etc. unless you KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! [alert admin]

OnyX 1.9.6b2 (Mac OS X)
I have been using Onyx for many years, and have found it to be stable, frequently updated, simple to use, and the automation features are great. This being said, it is your own responsibility to ensure that you are not using a BETA version, and UNDERSTAND what you are doing to start with. I would suggest that you NOT randomly begin to delete various system and kernel caches, etc, unless you are CERTAIN that you want to in order to cure a specific problem. Or suffer the consequences. This is a great tool, that allows access to many parameters that would ordinarily require Terminal. I consider this to be a "must have" tool. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2008 12.1.0 (Mac OS X)
I installed 12.1 on my MacBook Pro 2.2, OS X 10.5.2 with no issues whatsoever. I quit all running processes first, repaired permissions afterwards with Onyx automation, then restarted, and v12.1 is running flawlessly. I have noticed a small speed increase in the scrolling of long docs as well. (Word). Ancient Boii dude: I understand that you don't like the product. You don't have to, but posting 3 or 4 flame type comments with a 1 star rating on each of them is not what these forums are for, and it's dishonest. I also don't believe you. You've been around these forums long enough to know how to install a MS product, i.e. quitting background apps, and repairing permissions afterward. I've heard you be quite humorous and helpful in the past. Not today. Your posts here are tiresome, bitter and mean-spirited. You're slipping Ancient Boy. [alert admin]

DVD2oneX 2.2.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I'd like to commend the developer for releasing this bug fix within literally a couple days. This new release (2.2.1) seems to have fixed the crash upon launch problem I was experiencing. [alert admin]

DVD2oneX 2.2.0 (Mac OS X)
I had to remove this and revert to 2.1. The app wouldn't launch, or rather would quit as soon as it opened. Repairing permissions and restarting did no good. There is obviously a severe bug here somewhere, as it appears that a lot of others are experiencing the same thing. MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM. [alert admin]

Apple MacBook Pro EFI Firmware 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)
I used Software Update, followed the shutdown; hold restart button until quick flashing sleep light, procedure as prompted, and the whole procedure was over in less than 4 minutes. No problems whatsoever. To be safe I repaired permissions afterwards. Macbook Pro 2.2 GHz [alert admin]

Now Up-to-Date & Contact 5.3.2 (Mac OS X)
This update installed without issue for me, and seems to be working fine. I have not experienced the issues that other users seem to be experiencing. I, too, am outraged and incredibly angry over the fact that I paid for the Nighthawk upgrade over 1 year ago, and STILL have not seen anything besides vaporware, endless delays, insufficient status updates, and generally just more bullsh*t and excuses. However, I am still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, as there really isn't a comparable alternative to this in the mac market, and as far as I can tell from the forums, it looks like they are quite close to finally releasing this. I have used NUTD since system 7. I only hope that Nighthawk will finally get released within the next month or so. If not, then sadly, I too will have to abandon this desperately struggling ship of a company for either Daylight, or iCal, and at that point, I will not look back. [alert admin]

To the reviewer that graded this 2 stars based upon the interface: This is a financial utility for converting data files. Not a game, or eye candy. What's more, it is one of the most inexpensive and reasonably priced utilities out there, considering the fact that (to my knowledge) this is the ONLY utility out there for the mac that performs these functions. The author is responsive, and this WORKS, and it works well. If you want pretty, go play a game, or buy a MS product at 10 times the cost. I personally will settle for functionality and stability, a reasonable price, and a responsive developer any day. You have every right to post a comment about the interface, but the star rating is meant to be used for reviewing the software, and how it performs its intended function. [alert admin]

After reading Thursby Software's response to the poster that couldn't get this to work, even after hours on the phone with tech support, it is obvious that Thursby's priority is $$, not the good will, and strong customer relations/support that are the hallmark of a good company. I personally would never buy from a company that is so intransigent and iron-fisted about a refund to a dissatisfied customer. Congratulations, Thursby, I hope you enjoy your $119.00 you…

Uh, what exactly do you mean by "took over your computer"? Remote management? Just curious; OK, and perhaps the tiniest bit suspicious and paranoid. Especially when it comes to Intuit :-)

It would have been one thing if you simply posted a comment, then, after reading the inevitable replies, you would have been able to realize that attempting to run iPhoto 8 alongside OS X 10.5 was simply foolhardy and your problems were your own fault. Instead, you unfairly rated it 1 star as a result of your own ignorance. As previous posters have already pointed out, 512 MB is BARELY enough to boot your computer, let…

WTF do you mean? Is being cryptic supposed to be humorous or helpful? How about actually expressing a coherent thought regarding this. This is, after all, a software forum, NOT some Buddhist blog.

If you aren't the administrator of your own computer, you have no business installing any software, period, on a machine that you don't own. So, why are you even bothering to post a comment here? If you do in fact own your computer, and you haven't figured out the whole administrator thing, this software is the least of your problems.

The only nitwit I can see here is YOU. First, the "do you really want to send a form again" is a browser attribute, not a "skin", or appearance feature which is the purpose of this app. Second, STOP YELLING! Third, Version Tracker is NOT a place for your inane ranting about off-topic subjects that have nothing to do with this software. Get a life.

Delete the Limewire folder in ~/Library/Preferences/Limewire For an extra measure of caution, you might want to repair permissions, and restart before re-installing LW 4, but this last step may not be necessary.
