XMenu 1.8.1 (Mac OS X)
The latest version of XMenu is using the lame blue Applications folder icon from 10.5. I miss the plain old black & white icons from the last version. (this is the only colored icon that I have in my menu bar, so it looks out of place). [alert admin]

Leopaque 2.1 (Mac OS X)
If Apple thought the switch to translucent menu bars was going to go without a fight, they were wrong. Leopaque is one of the first apps I went searching for after upgrading. It works - which is more than I can say about several of the other apps that claim to do this. [alert admin]

PithHelmet 2.6.7 (Mac OS X)
Pith Helmet seems to be the cause of the recent rash of Safari crashes that I've encountered. There are a number of web pages that will instantly crash Safari, but then I realized that disabling the 'Block Filtered Content' menu would allow them to load! The worst thing is that I'm not running the Safari 3 beta, I'm still using Safari 2.0.4. The crashes started happening in the past week, and while I don't think there was a Safari update specifically, there have been a few security updates. Also, I am unable to get to the old Pith Helmet website, which is a bad sign :( [alert admin]

Saft 8.3.12 (Mac OS X)
Saft has a number of great features that many people will not be able to live without. Unfortuantely, even if you want to live without them you can't. The current version of Saft has so much stuff in it that I don't want, but it gets loaded anyway. I removed all entries from the Ad Blocker and Shortcuts panels, but there is probably still code hooked in. There is all sorts of mess in my menus that I don't want (like Show Sidebar and Tab Thumbnails), and while normally I'd deal with having some menus that I never use since I don't have to look at them, some of them have hotkeys! The one that gives me the most heartache is the "block html autorefresh" which I do not use, but happens to be the same hotkey as Pith Helmet's "reload unfiltered" command which I do use frequently! (if I think a website is being affected by the ad and script blocking features of Pith Helmet I'll try to 'reload unfiltered' to see if I need to adjust my rules or if it is just a Safari issues). I originally bought Saft for its Full Screen browser functionality (I have a spare computer set up like a little kiosk browser) but have ended up using it on my main desktop for its 'tab recovery' feature. XMenu 1.8 (Mac OS X)
Latest system update, odd behavior
One of the most recent software updates has caused XMenu to display incorrectly. I'm on 10.4.9, I'm not positive if it was the 10.4.9 update itself or just one of the recent updates (i.e. a security update). The problem is that the XMenu icon now loads as the right-most icon, even to the right of the Spotlight icon. The problem is that the 'curved' part of the menu draws to the right of hte Spotlight icon... so the XMenu icon is out beyond the curved edge of the menu bar! The workaround of command-clicking, selecting preferences and toggling 'draw to the left...' will get the icon back in the menu bar like it is supposed to be, but that is a real hassle to do every time I log on. MenuMeters 1.3 (Mac OS X)
Love it, but network meter disappears
I never had this problem with 1.1.1 on my G4 tower, but I see this fairly frequently with 1.3 on my MacPro. I've got the CPU meter (set to average the 4 cores), and the network meter (set to display throughput with transmit/receive) in my menu. Occasionally I'll come back from a reboot and the network meter will be gone. Opening up the MenuMeters preference panel, I find that the checkbox on "display network menu meter" is missing. Checking it adds the meter back immediately, no problem. [alert admin]

Weather Now 1.4 (Mac OS X)
If you encounter a problem please check back to see if there are any follow up questions that will help solve the issue.
I've looked at the code to make sure I didn't accidently comment part out, but the code to catch if you don't have a recognized serial port is still there, and the code to catch if you don't have a recognized weather station connected is still there. So, to solve the problem I will need some assistance from those being hit by them... [alert admin]

Weather Now 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Feel free to leave feedback here, I do read it.
Expect updates to this app soon! I've got all the AppleScript commands returning correct data, it is just time-consuming to update the resources that let the AppleScript Editor actually know what commands are available. [alert admin]

Screen Blanker 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Feel free to leave suggestions here
I will read all the feedback. If there is something you think would make the program more useful for your scenario let me know. It does everything I need it to do for my wall-mount info panel, so the only things I'll do on my own are a couple of minor optimizations to make the app size smaller. [alert admin]

Ability to Turn Hidden Features Off and On
100% agree with you. I use PithHelmet for ad blocking, and it has a hotkey defined to reload a page without blocking enable (occasionally it blocks stuff you really want to see). Well, that hotkey conflicts with a Saft hotkey related to popup blocking that I never use. So I have lost keyboard control of a useful feature in another app :( There is a ton of stuff in this app, I'm sure someone has asked…

would be nice if the installer'd work
Agreed. Back when CS2 had updates they always worked. These CS3 updates just seem to hang forever. I had to manually install the RAW converter, because I actually care about that. I've just started ignoring all the Bridge/Cue updates. I tried for days to get them to install - repair permissions, empty caches, reboot and start the install immediately (so no Adobe apps ever got launched), but nothing. Oh well.

Could use ability to "float" application
When you bring another application to the foreground this app still hides everything else. Some applications, other than just widgets, can pop dialog boxes in the foreground too. I assume that what you mean is that you want an arbitrary window from another application to be on top of the 'blank' screen but you don't want that applications menu bar visible? You're correct, it won't do that becuase the application in the foreground gets to…

Nice backdrop for Ultimate Pen, etc.
I don't have any code in there specifically to deal with multiple screens. It wasn't a needed goal for the 'kiosk' type setup I designed it for at my house. If you think it would be something you needed I could look in to adding it.

unexpected quit with 10.3.9 system
Same basic question I asked the other two guys, but haven't gotten a response too yet. What type of serial port adapter do you have?

Does your serial adaptor have drivers that are compatible with 10.4? I thought I had code in there that made sure there was a valid serial port before trying to look through them, but that part is hard for me to test as my serial port is internal & difficult to remove... I did test with the serial port already captured by another program so it wasn't useable, but even in that case it at…
