Readiris Pro 11.6.3 (Mac OS X)
I finally reached a customer service representative at I.R.I.S. Inc. The new 11.6.3 version of the Readiris Pro 11.0 is a patch aimed at resolving a performance problem that some users were having. If your copy of 11.6.2 is working, trying to acquire the upgrade won't change anything. [alert admin]

Readiris Pro 11.6.3 (Mac OS X)
No information about this "upgrade" is available online. The download page says that users must contact technical support for information about the software changes from 11.6.2 to 11.6.3. Yet my repeated attempts to contact tech support at I.R.I.S. have failed. Phones calls never get answered and are routed to a voice mail. No one ever gets back to me. Neither have email requests been answered. I tried calling the corporate office in Del Ray, FL. Same deal. No answer. And since when does an "upgrade" cost $129.00? Is this a free upgrade for established users? Or is it a new version? All this is unclear. I think it smells fishy. Maybe I.R.I.S. is in trouble. [alert admin]

SnapNDrag 2.1 (Mac OS X)
I love SnapNDrag and use it almost daily. It's faster and easier to use than OS X's Screen Shot commands and provides more functionality. I've never had a problem with it. My highest personal rating. [alert admin]

Pandora 1.9.8 (Mac OS X)
I've used Pandora (formerly Netscrape) for research purposes with great success. I've never experienced the hanging problems or crashes I read of in earlier reviews. I think it's key to play around with search terms, since that will impact on results very specifically. When I've scraped individual URLs, the program was quite thorough. Sometimes it does appear to halt arbitrarily, when one might expect that more material would be forthcoming from the Netverse, but what does get downloaded is almost always sufficient for my purposes, at least. It's a lovely program. [alert admin]

Audio Postcard 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I ran into technical difficulties with this program and have been unable, aftger numerous, varied attempts, to get a single reply from the developer, nFinity, Inc. Three times over the last two months I have submitted a feedback form from the company's website at http://www.quick-voice.com/feedback.html --nothing. I then tried tracking down its corporate headquarters--not a trace to be found. I then emailed their distributor, Kagi, and was sent two email addresses, to which I sent messages. I got a response from somebody named Michael Corcoran (mjc02865@mac.com) who wrote: "Where did you find the contact address . . . that one is no longer valid. however I can help you. What is the issue. ~Mike" That seemed promising, but then he never wrote back, despite my sending him severeal follow-up messages! I will try writing the P.O. Box in Rhode Island for a refund, but I'm not holding my breath. Buyer beware! [alert admin]

Yes. I am having the same technical problem. And, as I wrote a few minutes ago, I too haven't been able to get technical support.
