osXigen 2.6 (Mac OS X)
I love the look and feel of osXigen. I tried Transmit, Fetch, and ftp Thingy. It was a toss up between osXigen and Transmit 2. osXigen won me over simply because of the beautiful aqua interface including drawers, and customizable tool-bar (in the same manner as Mail). They both performed just as well with tests of 6 and 32 MB files. Both achieved the same transfer rates. [alert admin]

I didn't have to ready any readme or instructions. When I tried to sync using iSync, iSync told me where I needed to go in the help file, and was basically walked through it. When I tried to sync after following those instructions, iSync told me that all I had to do was push the hostync button. So I Quit iSync, and pushed the hotsync button. Hostync automatically opens iSync, and synchronizes everything. I would give it 5 stars if it also synced notes, making it no longer necessary to open the Palm Desktop (just to view my notes on my desktop)... It does what it says, and does it well. [alert admin]

changed. I still do not do online banking, only using the "checkbook and reconciliation" part of the program. I only bought 2002 Deluxe becuase it ran on OS X. This 2003 offers me nothing new. And it's not really their fault IMO. I mena, a checkbook program can only go so far before it has become evrything it can be. [alert admin]

DataViz Documents To Go 4.0 (Mac OS 9)
final program that I have been waiting for to be brought over to OS X. I have been using Wordsmith to hold me over. DTG is very good, does what it says it is supposed to do, and does it well. I would give it 5 stars if the Picture To Go module had options. As it is now, I will just stick to Fireviewer for my graphics "needs" on my Palm. Thanks Dataviz for a good stable product. Thoth 1.5.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
user. Have been for quite some time because frankly it is the only one that works for me 100% of the time, but I still check out the others, hoping for a better aqua interface. As soon as Halime or Newsflash comes of age, Good bye Thoth! [alert admin]

GraphicConverter X 4.2.1 (Mac OS X)
not Photoshop, but it does everythign it is supposed to, and does it superbly, and at a rock bottom price. The best $35 I ever spent in software for the Mac. [alert admin]

QuarkXPress 5.01 (Mac OS 9)
by now that they really missed the boat by not making OS X a priority...until too late. I am using InDesign. IMO better than XPress, and not as expensive. Quark lost out on my money. MacWorld agrees with me, so my opinion, no matter what others think, must be shared by many others. [alert admin]

probably should have mentioned that, but didn't since I was reviewing OW (First Union & Wells Fargo). Since this morning, I have tried Chimera for the first time since version .1. All I can say is Wow! literally jaw-dropping speed, and access to both banks online. I am switching to Chimera. I have been using it for 3 hours now, and no unexpected quits either. [alert admin]

the *real* problem with my machine is OW. I have 4 Macs my the house (two are mine - desk & laptop, 1 the wife's, 1 the kid), all on the same cable network, 2 using Office v.X and Quicken 2002 Deluxe. The other 2 are completely stock machines running OS X with the exception of the games on the kids Mac. They all make OW quit. The problem is with compatibility preference when set to identify itself as IE 5.5 for Windows (needs this for my banking online). When this is set to OW, I don't have the crashing problem, so my rating stays the same. [alert admin]

license back during the Public Beta of OS X. I thought it would only get better. I was wrong. It keeps getting worse. I can't even visit CNN.COM and click on a story without it crashing and sending off a crash report. It can't replace IE yet for me, but it is nice to use elsewhere and bathe in it's aqua goodness.
