Fast DVD Copy 4.0.4 (Mac OS X)

The best DVD backup program that I have tried

This product works perfectly for me. Backs up everything I throw at it. It takes a while, but if you let it run at night... in the morning you have a fully functional backup. Works with both superdrives in my iMac G5 and my iBook G4. Summary: It it simple and it works. [alert admin]

PSPWare 2.5.0 (Mac OS X)

Western Bacon (see below) should go to Carl's Jr.

Dear Western Bacon,
PSPWare is a very cool app. Works great. FYI, your review is totally off the mark. Let me explain.
You do not have to go to .Mac to get support. Go to support@nullriver.com. Also, this is sharware... why should the vendor not use something as cheap and easy and nearly universal as PayPal? PayPal is perfect for them.
Try to review the function of the app and if you can't do that... stick with the fast food burgers. [alert admin]

Hide-Out! 2.0 (Mac OS X)

I like it

This little app does what is says it will do. It has served me well for quite a while. Best of all it is free!
A suggestion for those complaining that this product telegraphs that you have something hidden (which it does, btw)... a simple solution is to rename the Hide-Out app something else less obvious to it's purpose (like "Program" or "File"). Then use Hide-Out, the renamed one that is, as instucted by the vendor. No more telegraphing what this thing is and what it does.
Bottom line... this works... it is simple... it is free... it is good. [alert admin]

Deja Vu 3.1 (Mac OS X)

Just a thought

Regarding all the complaints about the 3.1 installer, just a thought... ...maybe the Deja Vu 3.1 installer only installs 3.1 IF you have Tiger (OSX10.4) installed. If you have Panther (10.3) you get 3.0.2 and if you are running Jaguar you get another (older) version of Deja Vu. Again, just a thought... not confirmed. Hopefully, if true, this will calm some folks down. Regards. [alert admin]

Skype 1.0.0.15 (Mac OS X)

VoIP the way it should be... Free! (and it works well)

I just started using this last week. I have already gotten 10 of my pals and family members to use this. Great quality voice, client design, ease of install and use, Xplatform with PCs and Macs, and best of all... for p2p it is free! Very cheap from a computer to a telephone too (but I have not tried that). A Dutch buddy of mine did and he is a total convert. US to Holland, chatting with his mom $.019 Euros. I am very impressed. How could I have missed this one after trying tons of crapola VoIP. EXCELLENT. [alert admin]

Hide-Out! 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Please read the first line of the app's description...

...that says it all... "very simple". I really like this. It is NOT anti-hacker. It is NOT real security. It is NOT techie-proof. What it is is very simple and very functional as a free "made a file invisible" app. Nice work from a guy who understands the meaning of KISS. Thanks. [alert admin]

Blizzard Diablo II 1.10 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Huh???

I have a slow poke 3ooMhz iMac, and LOD runs fine in software mode. I played it on a friends rocketship PC and it was just the same speed (looked better cuz he had a super video card). But it runs fine on my slow iMac. I would suggest a complete uninstall and then reinstall for you guys with fast Macs that can't get Diablo II to run properly. THIS GAME IS REALLY FUN WHEN IT WORKS!!! [alert admin]

Great product...

...so stop slagging the vendor for trying to stay in business. Just think about it, they make a super app, and then 1) you complain and complain about a $20 fee to convert to an entirely new product, 2) Newbies read it and decide not to license Speed Download, and 3) Yazsoft goes out of business. Where does that get you as an end user. Go to Symantec and try to get them to write something like this, and then ask then not to charge you for a new version... ha, ha, ha on both accounts. Don't be so cheap with the small outfits, guys. We want them to stick around and write cool stuff on the Mac, right? [alert admin]

Praeco X 1.7.7 (Mac OS X)

Oh man.... you guys are tough

Come on... three stars off for a simple calculation issue. Jeeze. This is a stable, well thought out, OSX app that has an author who is committed and in it for the long haul. Best of all, it works. I hardly ever loose an auction, and I bid a lot. Futher, $30 to keep an author engaged is chicken feed. How many shareware apps have disappeared because of lack of support by users. I'll bet you guys who are complaining never pay your shareware fees and never work with the authors to help them improve their apps. Oh yeah... bone up on your second grade math skills.
