MAME OS X 0.118 (Mac OS X)

MAME is back!!!!!

This is an excellent replacement for MacMAME, which was getting quite buggy in its most recent releases. This version of MAME is much faster, the options are easy to configure, the video modes are excellent, and tons of other little enhancements makes for a great release. Minor caveat: it does seem to take a while to load (5 hours on my Dual 2GHz G5) on the first run. But after that, this runs smoother than just about any other emulator I've ever seen. A must download for any emulator fan. [alert admin]

Larry Menu 1.0-beta (Mac OS X)

Best. Product Description. Ever!

"useless app to decrease productivity and waste time"
Sounds like exactly what I need! [alert admin]

Color It! 4.5 (Mac OS X)

Wonderful History

I remember trying this program a long time ago when Photoshop was still at version 3.0. I found Photoshop extremely difficult to use at the time. Color-It by comparison was a breeze and was very powerful as well. I could do just about anything that was possible in Photoshop, at a much lower price. I probably would have stuck with it if it had been updated regularly. Definitely worth consideration and, according to my recollection, more usable than Photoshop elements. Hopefully has a good tutorial that ships with it, even though it may not need it. [alert admin]

Quinn 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Great Update

This always was a fun game and a great implementation of a classic. The gameplay felt perfect, with great attention to detail of how this game should feel and play. But, the interface always seemed dated and just "wrong" somehow. This fixes that and then some, making Quinn the slick-looking game it always should have been. The only problem left is purely asthetic; the pieces now don't look as good as the rest of the game. Since you can fix this yourself, I'm not docking any stars. Good work! [alert admin]

JediMaker X 1.2.0 (Mac OS X)

Good, but...

One of the best apps of this kind, but there's one major issue: I'm one of those guys that tabs around fields, and when I hit tab in the app, it jumps to the buttons, and won't let me enter any more text until I quit and relaunch. Its' a small issue, and I'm sure this can be fixed in IB. One a sidenote: I guess Portman's the Jedi maker? [alert admin]

PS2PDF and Friends 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Correction...

You can also save PostScript files for conversion out of OS X, as long as you have a simple PostScript printer selected when you create the file. OS X often will put in color settings that confuse conversion utilities (even Acrobat Distiller). This appears to be a bug in OS X, as it doesn't affect OS 9. So, try using a black and white printer to save your PostScript files, or save out of OS 9. [alert admin]

Barbarian 1.00a (Mac OS X)

Won't Launch

I double clicked the icon, the Barbarian bounced in my dock, and... nothing. The program immediately quit. [alert admin]

Epson EPL-5700i 1.3aE (Mac OS X)

For faster printing...

Try using 300dpi to print. It prints at least twice as fast. The quality is less than the higher resolutions, but is more than adequate, and makes no difference on readability for text. [alert admin]

WaMCom 1.3.1 (Mac OS X)

It's apparently more stable

I downloaded this, and read the app info. WaMCom appears to be the major development branches of Mozilla with some code fixes applied for stability. So, if you're having stability problems with the equivalent version of Mozilla, try this.

Funny thing: I posted this comment in WaMCom, but I couldn't in Safari. [alert admin]

Quickly broke

It was likely still working in the large directory before force quitting, but since I didn't have progress bars in the scripts it's difficult to tell. Force quitting the program would not quit the Ghostscript process that it spawns, so you'd need either force quit that process, restart or log off to be able to use the scripts again. Originally I wrote the scripts in response to a missing feature of OS X 10.2, which couldn't…

eps to pdf: - which one?

My apologies. Not much feedback to this product lately, so I haven't been dilligent in checking. PS2PDF Print Optimized is probably the best bet for you. Using prepress instead only affects CMYK images, and I don't believe you'd have any in your case.
