SSH Tunnel Manager 2.0b3 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't Work For Me...Went Back to V1.0.3

I've always liked this app. Thanks to Yann for developing it. I've used v1.0.3 for a few years, and it's been very helpful, in spite of a few quirks. I access a number of machines with up to 18 tunnels per connection. I recently upgraded to 2b3, and have not been able to use it at all. It does not save any tunnels in the preference file when I quit. Also, with V1.0.3, I could use BBEdit to manage the .plist using XML, since entering the tunnels wouldn't always work well. The v2b3 .plist cannot be read by BBEdit. I reinstalled v1.0.3, and hope that a new version will address the problems. [alert admin]

Wastebasket 1.1 (Mac OS X)

This is the…

worst software I have ever had to deal with! Running on my Powerbook G4, 400MHz, to G85xi, networked through a JetDirect 175x. Repeated attempts to install, deinstall, install, etc. tell me that it's been successfully installed, then that the install failed. It then works, but tries to go through the installation wizard when I restart. CPU power is being consumed up to 85%. I have to kill the HP Communications process if I don't want all my applications to grind to a halt. Every couple of seconds there are 10 to 15 attempts to communicate with the printer over the Network. Printing is painfully slow; over a minute per sheet. I printed a high quality photograph, and it took well over an hour; that's one 8.5 X 11 sheet! I don't know if faxing from the computer works, but there are communications problems with the HP Toolbox. Aaaarghhh! The G85xi is a great piece of equipment, the software makes it a disgrace. Oh, yeah, I loaded their new software for my Windows XP machine, and it's managed to slow it down, too! Fire HP's VP of Software Development! [alert admin]
