Netscape X 9.0b1 (Mac OS X)

Still making this?!

Why is netscape bothering to still make this? Anyone who wants this functionality uses Firefox. This browser is dead. Why do they waste their time and money. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2004 11.2.4 (Mac OS X)

Still no encryption support in Powerpoint

Word and Excel got encryption support a couple versions back., but of course, powerpoint the only one i need it in doesn't have it!! Darn it, when are they going to allow for that. I'm having to install parallels on my Macbook and run PP within windows to play a stupid encrypted PP presentation. [alert admin]

Flip4Mac WMV 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Now WMP doesn't work either

I tried this, it didn't play streaming files from my favorite site so I uninstalled it. After doing that even Windows Media player won't work anymore. Nothing plays it just looks like it's going to load but it doesn't and in the end the audio never plays through the streaming with it either. So, I'm screwed, no more WMP for me at all or WMV [alert admin]

Saft 8.2.2 (Mac OS X)

Possible upgrade bug

I installed the latest Saft (8.2.2) and after restarting Safari it gave me a continuous beachball as windows just popped up every 1 second. None of them loaded a website they just were spinning as if looking for a site. I force-quit it after 17 windows appeared with no end in sight. I downgraded and then cleared out my saved browser windows: File -> Delete Saved Browser Window -> Delete all and then upgraded again and it is working fine, so far. [alert admin]

HI...

I agree with you, I used to use it back in 1997. But then I got into the Linux world and learned how to configure apache.

My Work-around

Incidentally I worked around this by turning off the saving of browser windows and cleared them in the file menu.

Possible upgrade bug

It seems even though the "restore at start" is NOT checked in the Misc Prefs of Saft. It's doing it anyway.

Version is Driver update only

Perhaps I'm wrong, but everytime I download this I only get the driver update and not the retrospect installer. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Update is garbage

I used the tip of finding the disk image in the /tmp folder and burning it with toast. It worked like a charm.

What's the point?

I don't recall Norton Antivirus (I have version 9, not installed) having e-mail protection, or does the Mac version of the program detect PC viruses in mail files?
