KnockoutDock 1.2 (Mac OS X)

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!

Sorry to all you early adopters of OS ECKS, but I absolutely despise the interface - especially the centrepiece of it, the dock. As a result, I only recently converted to OS ECKS. Apple should take a lesson from Microsoft here - if you don't like the new OS interface, allow people to go back without much fuss. Anyway, KnockoutDock works fantastic and in conjunction with Unsanity's FruitMenu and Butler, I can have workable interface tools that don't take up room they don't need to. And yes, Exposé still works - unlike some similar apps this keeps it unbroken. I would pay for this - I hate Aqua so much... [alert admin]

iView MediaPro 3.0 (Mac OS X)

I don't use OS X...

...so I find it highly irritating that they will not at least sell an old version that runs on OS 9. Looks like I'll eventually be transferring the photo stuff I have to the PC I bought (it's already got my iTunes library). [alert admin]

AutoMobile 3.2 (Palm OS)

Great app!!!

If you own a car and a Palm OS device, this is the one for fuel tracking. I have have used this since 1999 and it's the goods. Look at the others if you like, but this has much faster data entry and is easy to find logs and averages. Try it and see. [alert admin]

AvantGo Desktop and Web Client 4.0 (Palm OS)

Who gives a stuff about OS X?!?

My beef with this product is that it wrecks the Hotsync capabilities on my Kyocera 7135. After loading it, you could not use the button on the hotsync cradle. I use OS 9 so the fact that it doesn't have an OS X component is irrelevant. [alert admin]

Apple Final Cut Pro 4.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Probably the best...

application for editing on the market, but not without some improvement required, like the variable speed (awful - should take a leaf out of Avid's book here) and an add transition to range function. But these are relatively minor. I do wish it still ran on OS 9. My experience of OS X has been terrible - quite unstable on G3, G4, G5 Panther, Jaguar etc. and sluggish too - and I have lost hours of work multiple times - something yet to happen on OS 9. Apple iTunes 4.7.1 (Mac OS X)

Huh?

I'm still trying to figure out why there's a Windows version but no OS9 version. Apple used to be great but now they suck. [alert admin]

Eudora 6.2.1 (Mac OS X)

The ole Kiss principle

Keep it simple stupid! A great program for email. Disappointed OS 9 development has stopped, but I'll continue to use it nevertheless. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS 9.2.2 9.2.2 (Mac OS 9)

Simply the best...

operating system that currently exists. You can be a beta tester for Apple until at least 2008 with OS X and all its problems if you want - I choose to be productive and get on with tools that have years of refinement behind them. [alert admin]

AutoMobil 2.3 (Palm OS)

Use it all the time

By far the most used app on my Palm - since late 1998 actually. Updates could be faster, but overall does exactly what it is meant to - most importantly, the interface for entering data is very fast - a key consideration when you're filling up at the servo and you've got other cars behind you. I use it with my ute (for you Americans, 'pick-up truck') and motorbike - brilliant! [alert admin]

Gray Paint 2.0 (Palm OS)

Terrible. The most…

unstable Palm program I have ever run in over 3 years. The only way back from fatal exceptions (on displaying the icon of the program, not even running it!) was to reset the palm, clear the memory and restore EVERYTHING via hotsync. Awful, awful awful. [alert admin]

iTunes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> WMP

iTunes only for small collections?!? Somebody has never told me, as I have over 35,000 tracks, and it works very nicely, thank you very much. WMP or anything else simply doesn't cut it.
