OmniFocus 1.7.4 (Mac OS X)

The Best To Do Manager Available

I have used many To Do List managers and currently use Daylite to manage contacts and an action list. But, OmniFocus is better at managing To Do than any other program I have tried. However, because Daylite integrates contact management with a related action list, I am committed to Daylite. If OmniFocus had a contact management link to address book, I sure I would move to OmniFocus. The OmniFocus link with the iPhone is really fantastic! [alert admin]

FileChute 4.2.5 (Mac OS X)

Simple Yet Powerful!!!

I have tried a number of different programs to assist with the transfer of large files over the internet and most will do the job. However, this program beats them all for its ease of use and speed. I highly recommend this product. It is definitely the file compression / file transfer program for people without much technical ability. It gets the job done without having the user to read pages of instructions on its operation. [alert admin]

SplashID iPhone Desktop 5.0 (Mac OS X)

Don't Download this Update!!!

The program worked very well prior to the current update. Now, the program crashes every time I try to sync with my iPhone. Therefore, for me, the program is now pretty useless. I went back to using Password Plus. It doesn't have an iPhone client but I think it does a better job of managing my passwords. When SplashID fixes the bug in this latest update, I will update this post. But for now, it is terrible. [alert admin]

Alarm Clock Pro 8.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Why Pay for A Bug Fix?

I was about to upgrade to version 9.0. However, I read the developer's note regarding the changes made to the program and it appears that the upgrade is primarily a bug fix! Why should a developer ask the consumer to pay for something that should have worked right in the first place? What seem to be even more ridiculous is this. Look at the developers explanation for why they are charging for this upgrade. Their only justification for charging us is that they have not charged us in the last 10 years. Their comment was as follows: "Version 9.0 from the last 8.x release is primarily a bug fix release; however, we have big plans for it in the coming months, so please stay tuned." So again, it appears that they are charging us for fixing a broken program and want to be paid for the promise of something better. Wow! What a great business they're in! Frankly, I have never seen a developer ask for money on the basis of the promise to make an improved product. Really, they should put out an upgrade that really enhances the usefulness of their program. That is the normal way of getting paid in this business. I purchased this product on January 25, 2008 and made the mistake of upgrading to version 9.0. Now, I only have a 15 day trial and have lost the program that I once used. Yes, they are offering a download link to the old product if we contact them, but, why should we have to go through such efforts? [alert admin]

CleanApp 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Works Well But Hogs Your Memory

This product worked very well removing programs and their associated files. However, the downside is that the feature that watches installs on your computer has a program that is always running in the background. That program hogs your computer's memory and slows down other processes. I think this is ridiculous. For that reason, I deleted this app from my computer. Otherwise, I would continue using it. If you install it, open the Activity monitor that is in your Utility Folder. Notice how much activity is coming from a program that should not even be running when the program itself is not launched. Worked For Me Every Time

So far, each time I have needed to unlock a PDF Document, this program has worked and seemingly with little effort. It is very easy to use. [alert admin]

Daylite 3.5.1 (Mac OS X)

The Most Powerful CRM ! ! !

I have read the complaints that some have regarding Daylite and I have to agree that the program is not perfect. However, I have used every CRM program for the Mac and can say that there are no programs, that I am aware of, that can compare. It is the most sophisticated Contact Management Program available on for the MAC.

Here are some of the reasons I like the program:

1. A RELATIONAL DATABASE: It is a relational database that intuitively links every aspect of your interaction with a contact and his organization. For example, it keeps track of all To Do's associated with a contact and even the contacts employer or organization. It keeps track of every appointment you have ever had or communication you have had with a person or organization. It links multiple contacts to one organization and even links multiple contacts together.

2. BUILT IN WORD PROCESSING: It has built in word processing that allows you to generate custom designed merged letters and reports for mailing or presentation.

3. IT LINKS CONTACTS TO APPLE MAIL: Imagine being able to instantly tell a contact about every email he has ever sent you or received from you. It does this with almost no involvement by you. You tell Daylite what you want it to keep track of and it does it! This is really powerful if you are a person that deals with many contacts.

4. POWERFUL TASK MANAGEMENT: The Task List (To Do List) Management is also very powerful. I read one comment from a person who complained that a program required to many clicks to complete simple tasks. With Daylite, setting up tasks and appointments are very simple. You will even have the option of having the program email notifications to you or just beep or display a message on screen. And unlike many Task Lists such as that which is provided in iCal, it will allow 5 levels of prioritization. I think that is ridiculous to have a task list with only "Very Important", "Important" or "Not Important" as priority levels. That is the arrangement that is set up in many programs but not Daylite. If you have a lot of Tasks to complete on a daily basis, you know that 3 levels of priority just will not do!

5. APPOINTMENTS ARE WELL IMPLEMENTED: The calendar in this program is well integrated with the rest of the program. Rather that giving you a separate program like "Now Contact", the calendar and appointments are linked automatically with the contact and the contact's organization.

6. YOU CAN EMAIL DIRECTLY FROM DAYLITE: This is a great feature! I have about 4,000 contacts in my database and sometimes have to email to hundreds at a time. There is no other program that I know of that will allow this to happen with just one or two key strokes!

7. IT SYNC'S WITH ICAL, ADDRESS BOOK, PALM, AND ALMOST ANY OTHER PROGRAM OR DEVICE THAT USES APPLE SYNC SERVICES: If you are like me, you want to take your information with you everywhere. When I am not in front of my computer, my Palm has all the information on it. This includes every appointment, task, contact, company, etc that would be accessible from my computer.

8. IT AUTOMATES A SERIES OF TASKS FOR YOU: If you have a series of things that you need to remember to do [such as hire and train personnel; make sales presentations, set up patients in a medical facility, prepare legal briefs; or almost any series of appointments, tasks, etc] Daylite can schedule all of your appointments and tasks associated with a particular activity for you over days and weeks in advance - and all with just a few key strokes. I have never seen any program operate like this.

9. THE DEVELOPERS ARE FREQUENTLY UPDATING AND IMPROVING THE PROGRAMS PERFORMANCE: If you read some of the replies to the complaints posted on this website, you will see that they themselves have made replies to the apparent difficulties that some have had. They are constantly working on cutting edge innovations for the program. I loved the simplicity of Now Contact and still own the most current version. But, when was the last time you have seen any updates coming from it's programmers. I have been waiting to see the result of Night Hawk which they say will be a huge improvement over their current product. But, this has been a long time coming.

THE TRUTH IS THAT I COULD GO ON ALL DAY WRITING ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF USING A PROGRAM LIKE THIS!!! I have used Entourage, Daylite, Palm Desktop, the Apple programs, Now Contact and Now Up To Date and many others for years. None of them deserve to even be compared to this product.

THE DOWNSIDE: There is a learning curve that comes with purchasing Daylite. It is not like every other program that you have used!!!! It is not the CRM Program for Dummies [No Insult there] Sometimes I wish it were. I want a program that I could use mindlessly, without learning anything. But, because of all the sophistication that is built into this program, you have to read the manual. The programmers have even made many training videos that you could watch that will bring you up to speed. It is easy to use for the basic and simple things like set up an appointment or task, but this programs offers so much more! You can do WORD PROCESSING, Calendar Management, Contact Management, Project Management, Opportunity Management, Tasks, Notes, and more.

This program, like any other, is a work in progress. But, comparing it to any other program would be like comparing a Mercedes to a Hugo.

Great Product & Stable

This program is indispensible for those who use their Palm as a timer or stop watch. It prevents the Palm from powering down and keeps the screen active. It is a very simple program that does exactly what it says: It keeps the Palm On until you decide otherwise. I use a Palm Treo 700p. [alert admin]

AppZapper 1.3.0 (Mac OS X)

This Is A Great But Simple Program

I have used this program for about five months and have found it indispensible. With the availability of so many downloadable programs, it is easy to load up your hard drive with hundreds of programs. Unfortunately, Apple has failed to provide a simple way of completely removing installed programs and their associated files from your hard drive. And, worse than that, programers have not consistantly provided uninstallers. This developer has provided a program that is easy to use, has a great user interface, offers really interesting sound effects, and at a price of only $12.99, I think it's a steal! I used it to remove about 4 Gigabites of junk from my hard drive. This program came at the right time. At the time my 100 gig drive was loaded and I needed the space to install some important programs. This program took care of the problem in minutes. I think this program has earned 5 stars! If you would like to remove the hundreds, even thousands of junk files from your computer, I think you will find this program useful. By the way, I was originally going to rate the documentation 3 stars since I didn't read it. Then remembered why I didn't read it. When you open the program, the documentation that shows you how to use the program only consisted of 3 words! The program window simply instructs by saying: "Drag Apps Here". And guess what, the program does the rest. Who needs complicated programs where you have to read volumes before you can use the product. I don't know about you but I am very busy and don't have the time. In fact, I rarely write reviews because I just don't have time for it. And, NO, I do not work for the developer nor do I even care about who he is. His product just works! [alert admin]

Improper Evaluation

It's not reasonable to give an application a poor rating because you couldn't get a satisfactory answer to a question. I have used Agendus, as well as many other Contact Management applications, for many years. I have found no other application built for the Palm that works as well and has as many features. If you have a problem with the functionality of the app, comment on that so that we can…
