Web Confidential 3.8b3 (Mac OS X)

Safe and secure

I feel safe and secure having my passwords stored with this app. Besides passwords all my oddball data, software keys, combinations, and online banking info, etc is also stored here. Now that Apple has released the SDK for iPhone maybe there will be a version for that as well. I still use the Palm O/S version of WC also and even though I don't carry that around with me like the iPhone, it's there when I need it. Thanks Mr. Blom for an awesome app that is simple, works well, and makes me feel confident that no one will ever get into my personal data. [alert admin]

Drive Genius 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Drive Genius 2 - Cute interface but not worth it

I downloaded the trial version and frankly to charge $59 for some cute graphics is way to much to ask besides I found the original much more professional looking. I don't need cute animations to get the job done. I will stick with the 1.5.3 it works fine on Leopard without all the graphics and it Defragged a 750Gb drive loaded with videos and photos in about two hours with no problems after the fact. I boot it under Tiger to clean up the main hard drive. Get the original version 1.5.3 if you want this utility, it works great! Versiontracker should separate Version 2 from Version 1 so the reviews of the original are not ruined by it's offspring. [alert admin]

EyeTV 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Eye TV 3.0 upgrade

This review is concerning the upgrade version of EyeTV 3.0 Overall I like EyeTV and what it does. I own the EyeTV 200 and still prefer it over the EyeTV 250 because of firewire support and being able to plug all the video into the back of the unit. Still works great after several years and the video encoding is way better than the EyeTV hybrid and I've compared them side by side. I just did the upgrade from version 2.5 to 3.0 and aside from some cosmetic changes I am so far not impressed with the update and in fact am a little annoyed that it cost so much for so little. I actually preferred the way the editor worked in the 2.5 version I found it smoother and the clip previews were a little smaller so more would fit across the screen. I still don''t understand why when using the arrow keys in the editor the clips jump first a 1/4 second, then 3/4 second, then 1/4 sec, etc on and on whether you are going forward or reverse. The record indicator on the on screen remote shows almost no change when recording other than a slight gradation change in the button. Gray to red would be nice so you can tell at a quick glance what is happening. If your going to make some cosmetic changes some useful ones would be great If your buying EyeTV for the first time I highly recommend it but if your getting it as an upgrade from version 2.0 I would save your money unless you really feel you need the sharing or smart folders. OmniPage Pro X 11.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Useless piece of software

i cannot believe this company is still selling this software for 499 dollars. It has not been updated in years and still requires O/S 9 for many scanner drivers. I think it's about time this company either drop the software for mac or get off their rears and get it up to date [alert admin]

EyeTV 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Eye TV 2.1 (2066)

I somewhat like the new interface except for having to go to the action menu for certain functions. I liked the old set up better in this regard. Don't care much for the record indicator either it really makes it hard to see if your recording or not as there is only a slight difference in color on the red record button. I like that the files are easy to locate. Right now I'm a little annoyed that i have missed several shows because for some odd reason Eye TV just did not record even though it was set up and scheduled to do so. I never had this problem with thte old version. Frankly i also felt the Titan TV website worked much better than Eye TVs new program guide. I really can't see any thing to justify the cost to upgrade to this new version. Even the transfer to iPod isn't that great and can be accomplished with other software. I'm using it on a G5 Tower with 4.5 GB of RAM and over 700GB of Hard drive storage. Running Dual 2Ghz processors. So no lack of resources here. [alert admin]

VueScan 8.1.36 (Mac OS X)

Went back to version 8.1.35

using my Canon Lide 30 the scan on preview or scan is starting off really slow and getting slower as it continues. When I press preview the scanner makes a full pass of the document but the software is showing the preview slowly line by line. I finally gave up and went back to earlier version which is awesome and works great on the Canon and my Nikon LS2000 Thanks Hamrick for all your hard work on this! [alert admin]

VueScan 7.6.60 (Mac OS X)

3 scanners they all work great

this software has saved me a lot of time and money because it just works and works well with all the scanners I have. They were not supported for O/S X. Without viewscan I would have trashed the scanners and spent probably close to $2000.00 to replace them [alert admin]

I paid the…

$15 dollars even before I downloaded it because this program has been the best value anywhere and it and it's developer deserve the support. Thanks   Lemke Software for all the years of free upgrades and a great program!! [alert admin]

Aladdin StuffIt Deluxe 6.5.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

I am still…

using version 6.5 of Stuffit deluxe and it seems to be working fine with Jaguar for what I use it for. Magic Menu is showing up and working. I have not upgraded to version 6.5.1 for fear of losing it's workability with Jaguar.   [alert admin]

Pentax DS or DS2

I just discovered a blog that describes how to change a file in your system folder so that the O/S recognizes the Pentax DS. I tried it and it worked, i was able to import my Pentax RAW files into iPhoto. Here is the address for the blog; http://ok1000.blogspot.com/2006/06/waiting-for-aperture-and-iphoto.html Now all I need is to upgrade my video card and I can get Aperture.

Pentax DS or DS2

In spite of Apple saying that it supports the Pentax Raw format i have found that it does not. I have taken my Pentax Raw files to two Apple stores besides trying them on my own machine and they are not recognized by the O/S or by Aperture. I was almost ready to buy Aperture till I found this to be the case. Also even if I convert the Pentax files to DNG format with Adobe's…
