I just purchased an HP DeskJet 6127 which comes with the 2.1+ driver for OS X. It prints beautifully but lops off half an inch from the top of every page (if you request a 1 inch margin and you get about a .5 margin).
Just spoke with hp tech support, and they explained that this is a known issue. The only workaround for the 6127 is to get gimp print or the hpijs package, both of which can be found here: www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/
For what it's worth, the HP DeskJet 6122 (which is an identical printer minus the ethernet capability) has a newer driver available for purchase (2.2.1) which is supposed to fix the problem. This driver will be available for free download "shortly," but unfortunately this driver is not the same as what's used by the 6127. The HP 6122 can downgrade to 2.0f to fix the problem. only hitch is that when I delete messages on my Palm, they aren't deleted in Mail.app. Also, when I read messages on the Palm, they aren't marked as read in Mail.app (this may be intended). Again, thanks for this wonderful gift! [alert admin]
