Not on Software Update for me either...

It's a no show on the Software Update. ps: this dumb form made me put in "Just Installed" in order to fill it out. It's NOT installed - and maybe that's better. My experience with Apple OS upgrades is that 50% of them mess up your life. It is always better to wait a week or so... pps: I have a 1.8 G5 and it is excellent! [alert admin]

Spindownfix 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Man, is this…

timely. Over the last few months I had noticed that one or all of my 4 external Firewire drives would spool down by themselves and I had not told them to do this. I had finally decided that this might be part of the problem I have with long renders in Final Cut Pro that CRASH. Last week I spent a goodly amount of time talking to the vendors of said Firewire drives only to be told by newby 18 year old "Tech reps" that "all drives do that" when I know they never do and never have in the last 19 years I been messin' with these machines. Lo and behold I see this fix today on VersionTracker and I am stoked. I haven't tried Spindownfix yet but just for telling me the UNIX part of OSX is causing this to happen I give the programmer 5 stars & a HIGH FIVE. Even if it doesn't work, I have now found the answer to my problem. Thanks Much to Macmaps.com Webmaster A. Brody! [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.1.3 (Mac OS X)

I went thru…

the same hassle as k0r did last week on my Dual 800... After trying everything, I did the last thing I ever do - I called Apple - and they basically said I was "hosed" and had to re-install EVERYTHING again. Every time I quickly install a new "update" of anything (particularly Apple OS updates) I could kick my self in the butt. This has happened to me in the past and I let myself get suckered again. Take my advice and wait for a 10.2 update... [alert admin]

Currencies and culture

It sounds like our Italian friend has an ax to grind. We Americans know you have so much of which to be proud. It's just that nobody can't remember what it is right now. Can you illuminate us? Why didn't you just answer the guy's simple question? He wants to know how much it costs. The conversion used to be something like a Billion lira to a dollar but now we don't know what the Euro exchange…

Horrible looking program icons

This comment has the look and feel of a disgruntled competitor or wannabee icon designer. The icons look fine to me.

I agree

I agree. The one from "Colin" seems to be a "cut & paste" from a past "review" because I remember the story about the "print artist getting into 3D..."

HEY POWERCAT!!

Au Contraire mon cat. All Apple system software used to be free. You obviously have arrived of late. Back in the 80's and early 90's it was all gratis.
