America's Army 1.9 (Mac OS X)

Runs better than v1.7, still a few bugs

This version runs much better than previous release. Still has bug when not in full screen mode on multiple monitors. If you click the top of the window, and with each successive click, program will jump about 1/3 of the way off the screen. If it gets stuck outside of your screen you are screwed and cannot recover even by re-installing. The play is much smoother and I have the graphics cranked up to ultra-resolution. Seems much more responsive. TIP: to run hiw the "W" key twice and hold down. ANOTHER TIP: If using a PowerBook, an external keyboard is a must for proper F-key operation. For those who beleive that this program promotes violence, get real. It actually allows me to blow off steam, and not take it out on the real world. [alert admin]

iWork 1.4.2 (Mac OS X)

A must for accurate & ethical client billing

Pay no attention to the last post, it's rating a much older version. I saw this program at last update in Version Tracker and thought I would try it out for a new project where I had to bill a client based on an hourly rate. because the rate was steep, I wanted an accurate accounting of my time spent. This program works as promised. It worked for free for the alotted time and I had no problem shelling out 25 clams for something that pays for itself in the first 15 mins of use. I even had a problem (user error), reported it via email, and got a resolution that pointed me to the feature I needed to activate. How's that for service? Ever try to call Adobe, or (ugh) Quark, and get that level of service? [alert admin]

DO NOT TRY TO PAY - Dnld does not work

Just like others here, I have tried unsuccessfully to download the program 3 times and all three times when clicking on the download button was given the msg "NOT AUTHORIZED TO DOWNLOAD FILE". And just like the others, my money was taken and nothing given in return. I even tried to use a PC but it was given the FORBIDDEN 403(?) error. In short, this is a joke to try and download. Growth Charts 1.1 (Mac OS X)

I used the…

"Print" to PDF button available to any application and got weird but eventual print out to an HP Photosmart from PDF. The weird is that the PDF provided the same thing as a screen shot would, complete with dialog buttons. It also took forever to print, I had actually thought that it was not printing at all and closed the print que but later returned to find a half page print out in the printer tray. The output looks very reasonable for a product that rightfully claims that it can't print at all. So for now users can use the OS X print to PDF function, and deal with the issues outlined above, and get printed output of some sort. I hope this helps, as this is all I wanted to acheive here. Go out and…

buy some cheese to go with that whine! At least HP made a driver and is therefore showing support for the OS X v10.2 user community. By the way how much did you pay for the HP 1000, $249US? The most you will get on eBay is about $180, if you are lucky. I am giving it great rating because its a driver for 10.2 and it works for the rest of us. [alert admin]

Time Palette 5.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

I did a…

brief review and found that the evaluation version was too limited for for a proper conclusion. While the world map projections looked extensive, the sun shadow was extremly inaccurate. The visuals are more eye candy than useful. Anyone who can tell me different, please do. [alert admin]
