Snapz Pro X 2.1.2 (Mac OS X)

Does just as advertised.

I’d used this utility for several years, until OS 9. Then I failed to upgrade. It was excellent back then and fulfilled all advertised. The other day I had a need for some of what it offers once again. At first the cost put me off, however I was pleasantly surprised at the capabilities added over the years. I ran it through it’s paces several times, including the movie functions. It does just as advertised! I have no regrets at paying the shareware fee and fully expect to use it often in the future. Toast Titanium 8.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Cannot DL the update!

Following logging into Roxio's website and going to the updates page, when I click on the Download button I'm recycled back to the log-in page... the cycle can't be broken to get the download! What a hassle... [alert admin]

BackityMac 1.3.2 (Mac OS X)

"Free-ware"? It's a joke! Try SHAREWARE or DONATIONWARE.

It is a true put-off to read on Version Tracker that the software is "freeware" and then to launch the app only to be asked for a donation and for there to also be a registration number! I have not tried your application yet... The concept is great! I'd also suggest that you provide more than only PayPal as an option for making the donation... I will not do business with PayPal! Try one, or better all, of the following: https://order.kagi.com/cgi-bin/home.cgi Google Pay http://store.esellerate.net [alert admin]

NetShade 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Does just what it says! And NO PROBLEMS!

I’ve down-loaded version 3 and paid my up-grade fee. Launched it without problems. When I had a misunderstanding regarding the use of it, I used the web form e-mail at the support site. Within about 3 hours I had a reply! And, hey, I’m in Thailand... that meant someone was up in the middle of the night in America to provide support! Impressive! It could use a bit better documentation... or explanation is more like it. And it would be great if it would shield the IP address when sending e-mail or using a chat client... Get it. Use it! No one needs to know where you are or what IP you are entering the net with! Keep your privacy your own! [alert admin]

TheRecipeManager 2.1.0 (Mac OS X)

Where is the DEMO?! NONE...

After a long download (ya, still on a dial up connection), to my greatest disappointment, I discovered the is NOT any way of previewing this application! In order to try it, you MUST BUY IT! Sorry, I am not spending my hard earned money on any application I have not gotten to at least run with some limitations for evaluation! Chalk up a possible lost sell! Even applications that sell for hundreds of dollars offer a potential customer a way of evaluation prior to demanding payment in full. [alert admin]

PGP Desktop Home 9.5 Beta 2 (Mac OS X)

Huge improvement!

So far there isn’t any comparison with this beta version and the older OS X versions. All the problems I was having with prior versions appear to be fixed in this beta version of 9.5. Now, if they would give as much attention to their support, I could highly recommend PGP. As it is, only due to the support being like pulling teeth from a elephant, I don’t recommend this to anyone who doesn’t truly need the strong encryption should stay away. For those who do need the best possible encryption, PGP 9.5 is highly recommended. [alert admin]

More bugs

I've yet to find any "programer" that responses to the users of their software more quickly than Tony. I have no doubt that as soon as he is aware of the "bugs" you've found, they will be worked out! As a chef, I rate this software higher than any of the other recipe applications for the Mac. And, the support is unsurpassed!
