iVolume 3.0 (Mac OS X)
Im a huge fan of iVolume 2 but I find this version rather an expensive upgrade. New and improved? Well what was wrong with version 2? Well, there is nothing wrong with iVolume 2 in my opinion. It works pretty fast and I leave it set to 93dB and individual song mode (which is great when shuffling). I cant see the point of album mode, if Im playing a whole album on my iPod then I turn sound check off and hear the volume differences as the producer intended. I will wait and see how this develops before Ipart with more cash! Tc [alert admin]

iVolume 2.5.2 (Mac OS X)
I love this application and Im shocked that more people arent aware of it! Maybe the iTunes' Sound Check has got better with each release. how would we, as users of iVol, know? Anyway, Im continuing to use iVol, there are still some that dont sound the same level but in general it does a great job...and anyway, what have you got to lose? Tc [alert admin]

MoviesForMyPod/PSP/Phone 1.04 (Mac OS X)
I wanted to put movies on my mobile (and not the other way around!). There are loads of converters for Windows and converters that convert movies from your cam phone but I found this for my iMac. Its great! Fast, simple and works!! Thanks for making it!! Tc [alert admin]

RadioLover 1.6 build 83 (Mac OS X)
This is just what I needed to record those USA radio shows such as KNAC! I can set up the timer and let it do it's stuff! A word of warning however...if you are using it with a Mac laoptop you may find that it will not wake from sleep UNLESS you put it to sleep with the lid slightly open! If you close the lid of your Mac to send the Mac to sleep, chances are, it will not wake up to record! I found this out after a while! I have an iBook. other than that, its a great app, lots of options and perfect for me! Oh and not bad support either! Tc [alert admin]

iVolume 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I have over 11500 tracks on my iTunes. I would consider myself a hardcore iTunes user and I rate this product. Yes, it adds comments but I find that useful. It adds a date and often I find myself checking the comments to see if I have not forgoten to run iVol on a particular album. I would say, 98% of tracks are now at a good volume. A few slip through somehow. they are adjusted but due to a quirk in the track are not quite the same level. However, its a million times better than the iTunes method! So what have you got to lose?! I set mine to 93dB, single song mode and it actually lifts the volume of some old quiete tracks. I love it and I dont muck around or allow any dodgy programes anywhere near my imac! [alert admin]

After a few hick-ups with v2.0.0 this new update (v2.0.1.) seems to have addressed the minor problem caused by the latest iTunes (v6.0.2). iVolume levels out the volumes of tracks and doesnt bring every single track down to the lowest volume levels, as iTunes 'Sound Check' appears to. iVolume gives the quieter tracks a real meaty boost. The fact that it boosts certain tracks is great news for owner of iPods. The Euro iPod volume is well know for being quiet and previously 'Sound Check' made the situation worse. This programe makes you pleasd you have a Mac and will make Windows owners very jealous If your about to adjust your entire library be aware that it will take some time due to the analasis. For my 8000 tracks it's approx 50 hours. But well worth it!! [alert admin]

Have you got the latest version? v2.0.1? Its been out for about a week. I had major problems with v2, it didnt work! However the latest version in great and I cant see any negative comments regarding this version apart from yours. The reason the programe now uses the 'Sound Check' formular is because many iPods do not react to the 'volume bar' adjustment. My music library is so much better now with the quieter…

Just a quick tip. Be aware of any Graphic Equaliser setting. I noticed a lot of distortion initially but it was only because iVolume had upped a lot of my library and my GE was set high and so caused the said distortion. I have just re-adjusted the Graphic Equaliser and wow, the shuffled songs sound incredable!!

I agree it is a pain but I suppose it's there so you can keep tabs on which tracks have been adjusted. Believe me, it's easy to get in a muddle and you don't wanna be tampering with the specific field too much.

...I think the adjustment is not made in the song data but an iTunes tag (ie the sound check volume data). Its not a major adjustment. It is just changing something that is already there and not always required anyway. The bottom line is that it is no worse than the current iTunes sound check method. In fact, I find it sounds great. If you still dont like it then just turn…
