Installer Fails Every Time

I have no idea how good or bad this app is -- each time I try to install it, it says to try again. I fall into all the recommended system criteria. What gives? [alert admin]

Programmers should be kept away from Marketing

This is a great idea, no doubt. But if their software is as clear and easy to use as their website, it will take an awfully charming salesman to convince me to spend money on their supposedly brilliant application. No demo. No screenshots (did I miss them?). No idea what it looks like or what it does (beyond a very rudimentary explanation on Versiontracker). Hey! Humor me. I'm a photographer, an artist, and a designer; I'm visually-oriented. Gimme something to look at. And tell me something about the program. On their website, I saw two prices -- $65 and $99. Which is it?!? Bottom line: The lesson I learned long ago about marketing and advertising is, Don't make your customer do "homework." They shouldn't have to work to simply glean a little information about the product from your website or other marketing materials. The bad thing is, I've always wanted somthing like this product but I never make blind purchases. They probably lose more sales than they make because of they way they go about their marketing. What a shame. [alert admin]

Epson Print Drivers 1.0 (Mac OS X)

One of the…

few things that keep me from making the jump to OS X is the lack of a driver for my Epson 1280. I realize that smaller printers are much more common but if professionals who rely on their (Epson's) products can't get support, an important market will not make the transition to X. This is frustrating as hell!! [alert admin]

Who knows how…

good or bad this app is?!? I downloaded, installed, and launched it and it quit with a Type 2 error. My system is stable with no problems so I don't suspect it. Anyone have similar probs? [alert admin]

Re: A user preference solves this

Personally, I don't mind the updates. In fact, they help me make sure that Watson is always THE most up-to-date application on my Mac. Watson is a 10 in my book! I use it ALL the time. If I could do my Photoshop work in Watson, I'd do it! Not perfect (what is?) but nearly enough so that it makes using it a joy. Watson! Come here. I need you.

Re: Arrogant Developer

From MacCentral, 7/8/03:

"Once Panther is released, this point update will enable users to see which tool is currently selected in the toolbar. What's more, Panther compatibility isn't the only change in Watson 1.7.2. Other changes include an adjusted preference to prevent notification of tool updates; better NetBlockade detection; better support for Amazon Web Services; fixed eBay phone parsing; and much more."

Yeah. . . the developer is REAL arrogant. Jeez! Get a clue. And get a…
