Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.0 (Mac OS X)

It Blows hard...

Scrolling not working in Safari 3. Cant find the app to open the PDFs. You have to name files twice, like the previous poster said. Etc, etc. Not good Adobe, once again greed has clouded the minds of quality control. Back to Preview. [alert admin]

pdf-Recover Professional 3.8 (Mac OS X)

Stay Away...

Stay away from this compnay. Its deception from start to finish. The demo they give you is version 1.23, which is 3 years old. They will take your email and spam you to death. If the PDF file needs a password to see the contents, then this app is useless. It will only remove password for printing, editing, etc. Currently there is no app that removes a master master password without using brute force. I have sent numerous email to them asking for the latest version demo, they have either danced around it, or ignored my email. By the way I found out the hard way that you dont have to give a real email to download the old demo. Stay away, you have been warned. [alert admin]

Art Text 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Amazingly nice and easy.

Waiting a long time for an app that does this on OS X. Now its here. Very cool. One issue however, it creates too many handles when exporting vector images. I love it. [alert admin]

Canvas X.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Intel ???

I don't get it. These companies get to know about what Apple is up to way ahead of the rest of us, but neither Adobe or Deneba (now Acdsee) has Universal apps. Its frustrating how the big guys drag their feet. Love canvas however, I've been using it on and off since Canvas came out in 1988. [alert admin]

Lineform 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)

A game?

It is useless as a pro app, since it can not import vector EPS or AI files. Freeverse compares features and has included Illustrator as a competing product. Get real! This app is not even on the same planet as Illustrator. Its an OK app for my 7 year old to tinker with, but that's about of it. Please don't compare weekend projects with programs that have R&D budgets of millions. Come back when you can import real vector files. Better yet, just stick to games. [alert admin]

Linotype FontExplorer X 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Impressive! Very Impressive!

I have to say that FontExplorer is by far the BEST font management tool I have ever used. I have tried them ALL, beerware, shareware, commercial, you name it. It works without a hickup. It is quite satisfing to have something that works, and for a great price, FREE. Thank you Linotype. [alert admin]

Firefox 1.5.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Not Good!

Version 1.5 broke my banking, with lots of JAVA errors. Had to go back to 1.07. Stalls alot, wont't load some pages at all. Has numorous JAVA related issues. Has problems with security certs. When it does work its fast, and has some features Safari lacks. But I will stay with Safari for now, because of reliabilty. [alert admin]
