Garmin RoadTrip 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
It's good to see that Garmin is supporting the Mac, but they've done a realy bad job. There are some major design flaws with this software (and the hiking counterpart Basecamp). The biggest flaw is that Garmin decided to store all your routes, tracks and waypoints into one window. Yes you can group them into folders, but since you can't create subfolders, you still end up with a large mess of different types of items into one folder, where there's no distinction between routes, tracks and waypoints beloning to one a route or track. I've set out a 700 km trail and I can't organise it without ending with either tons of folders or a small amout of folders with tons of items. Beside this I do a lot of cycling. I've no idea how to separate this from the trail. On WIndows MapSource one gdb-file can contain tracks and routes with waypoints from one trip. Waypoints, tracks, and routes are shown separately in one window. You can have several windows open at the same time. I realy don't see why Garmin made the choice of an app with only one window. Second, you can draw routes, but you can not extend a route, split a route or join two routes. You can draw waypoints and add them to your route, to extend your route. But this gives you an extra mess (given my point above) So if you draw a route, make sure you finish it completely, before you do anything else, othertwise you have start over again. On the other hand you can load tracks but you can't draw or alter tracks. Funny enough you can join or split tracks though (and not routes as I pointed out) [alert admin]

myTracks 1.3d3 (Mac OS X)
A nice looking app. I've been using HoudaGeo for some time, which has more features (but isn't free). I've found one major error: the track distances are incorrect. A 19 km track is calculated as 15 km. That's not just a bit off, it's far off. [alert admin]

Coda 1.5 (Mac OS X)
Subversion support. Wow! Multiple file search. Wow! Organising clipping. Wow! Great product becomes even better. [alert admin]

Ivano 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I bet it took longer to create the icon than to write this app. There's absolutely no use for this app, since you can calculate the price without iva, vat, btw, tax or whatever with calculator. Simple math: if the price is $120 (€ or £ or anything) and the vat is 20%: 120 / 1,2 = 100. [alert admin]

Airfoil 3.2 (Mac OS X)
If you want to stream any audio that comes out of your Mac around your house (or office, or party) this the app you need. iTunes can send music, but is limited to that. Airfoil can highjack any application, like LastFM, a mediaplayer or even your browser. Yes there is a slight delay the first time you connect to your Airport Express or other device, that is because it needs to establish a connection before it can send data, just like iTunes.
Having problems? Rogue Amoeba's support is excelent. Their respons very fast. [alert admin]

Froq 2 2.0rc2 (Mac OS X)
Although it has a nice looking interface, has a least one major bug: after viewing one table of a database, I get an error filling my whole screen when I select am other table.
Comparing features and price ($67), I'll stick to Cocoa MySQL which does basicaly the same, but is freeware. [alert admin]

SunFlower 0.1 (Mac OS X)
Downloaded the app, double clicked the (terrible) icon, nothing happened. Copied the app to a different location, tried again, still nothing. But I can't remove the disc image, because 'Sunflower' is in use. I started activity monitor, but there's no process running by the name of Sunflower. Nore does it show in the terminal. Is this some kind of malware? [alert admin]

MacGPS Pro 7.4 (Mac OS X)
... no thank you. You have to pay $50,- to see how this thing works. Not good karma. Based on the screenshots I judge the app as realy bad interface design. If you need to connect your gps to a Mac to upload gpx-files, there several are other (freeware) apps. Or try Trailrunner if you need to view your route on a map. [alert admin]

OpenOffice.org 2.3.0 (Mac OS X)
Is this still the X11 version? Or is it the long awaites Aqua version? The seems to point to X11. I'll wait until it's OS X native... [alert admin]

If you're not on a Mac (or even if you are) go to php.net, and not to a freelance developer that uses Versiontracker comments as an advertisement for a lame pdf document.

Trying to partion your hard drive without doing a full backup first? No matter what a developer claims, taking such a dangerous step without taking precausions is asking for trouble. Don't blame the developer for loosing data.

Thunderbird and Eudora use the same mailfolders (Library > Thunderbird) so you can easely switch from one to another.

@tabaks: Did you actualy try the app before posting the comment?? If so, you would have noticed that a) you need to set a password to access the data, b) can serve the data through a secure (https) connection (which you also could have seen on the posted screenshots) on the screenand c) not only can access the data in a Yojimbo like interface, but also edit it Yojimbo style.
So next time: try it…

Yes it can upload to SQL databses. Create a new table from an ODBC connection. You automaticaly get a new layout with all the fields from the remote database (or create your own layout, Filemaker stile). Making changes in any data, will be uploaded to the remote SQL database as soon as you click outside a field or go to the next record.

And why would you think that? I'm not a Filemaker employe or related to Filemaker Inc. in any matter. I'm a database- and webdeveloper and a longstanding user of Filemaker (since version 3). And I realy am very enthousiastic about Filemaker 9. Try it, and you'll like it, too.

Maybe the chat-window doesn't show where you left off, but there is a log viewer where you can search through all your chatsession. So you can always find what you previously talked about.

Ancient_Boii_Tribe I think you missunderstand what this app does. It's not intended for bouncing spam back to the (fake) sender. It's intended for people who have a mailinglist and want to handle all the mail that get's bounced because an emailaddress doesn't exist anymore, mailbox is over quota or someone has set a vacation message.
I maintain a mailinglist with 500+ subscribers and a dozen or so emails bounce each week. All I'm interested in are…

Great, but slightly annoying to use
You can type a number first and then click in a box. In the end you'll find this more easy, since you often want to enter the same number in several boxes. More often than changing the number in one box. (Unless you're randomly typing numbers into a box, to find out which one's correct. But that's cheating... ;-) )
