SpeedTools Utilities 2.8.1 (Mac OS X)
Complicated list of bundled utilities. Can I get just one? Can I get a trial/demo version? I spent as much time on the developers website as I can afford so my impression may be mistaken but from what I can see... a) It's really one app with all the utilities bundled in b) There's no demo or trial version available c) It costs $90 If it lives up to the claims it's probably a good utility but... I'm not going to spend $90 to find out. I'll just buy a new hard drive for that price. [alert admin]

MenuCalendarClock for iCal 2.7.3 (Mac OS X)
Finder etc date format display problem
Hello, I recently installed MenuCalendarClock v2.7.3 on MacBook 2 GHz Intel OS X 10.4.10 This is a great little app but after installing it I'm having a problem with date/time format display in Finder windows and a couple apps. I used the MCC prefs option to change the date/time display format using the string specifiers (eg "%a" for Abbreviated weekday) Finder windows now display dates like "Wed Aug 12" with no year. The app Journler also shows the date poorly formatted with no year in a dialog box for selecting dates. Excel standard date formats for formatting cells are changed slightly too. Instead of seeing the format "03/14/07" I now see "03 14 07". I checked the Finder "Get Info" window for recent and earlier year files and the dates are correct. This appears to be a problem with a resource that the Finder and some apps use to display date and time. I tried putting the date format back to the Mac default (using MCC), uninstalling, restarting etc. Any ideas on what got corrupted and how to fix this? Thanks, Steve [alert admin]

Simple fix. Just use Sys Prefs > International > Formats. Dooh! Another Homer moment. Many thanks to Greg Wilson - developer of DateService http://wwwversiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/32782 http://homepage.mac.com/gweston/download.html for helping me solve this problem with software that he didn't even develop! I never did get an answer from ObjectivePark. Steve
