VersionTracker Pro 4.5.1 (Mac OS X)
Does what it says. Sometime a little buggy about remembering which apps have been updated. But I haven't been able to use it for a week now because suddenly, after several years I am now getting a User Name/Password invalid when it tries to connect. I've sent two emails to tech support via the web and still nothing. Ever since CNet took over it seems it has started sucking more. [alert admin]

Login Fails - Invalid User Name or Password
Well, can't get any response from Tech support on this one. For over two days now I have not been able to use this app since it complains that I need to register and when I enter the account name and password I get an error saying one or the other is invalid. Funny, it's the same email and password that I used to log in and leave this comment. I've even tried changing the password and also using the "--2008" that C|Net (do they stink or what?) sent an email out about consolidating multiple accounts. Oh well, I guess it's not my week - my Drobo died as well. [alert admin]

Symantec Norton AntiVirus 11.0 (Mac OS X)
So in the download troubleshooting section is this little gem: If the compressed file has the .sit extension, then Mac OS 9 and StuffIt Expander 5.0 or later must be installed. Hello...Symantec...it's almost 2008; a lot has happened since you guys last used a Mac in 2001. [alert admin]

Symantec Norton AntiVirus 11.0 (Mac OS X)
Symantec can't even get their own web site right. We have to use NAM. When purchasing the upgrade digital download, the screen comes up with the Thank You for Your Purchase and a button to click to begin the download - just one problem. No button, no way to download. So Symantec gets your $30 and gives you nothing. On the bright side, it could be the first Symantec product to be purchased that won't screw up your Mac. On further reflection, it's a novel idea - pay us not to install our updates on your machine. [alert admin]

StuffIt Deluxe 12.0 (Mac OS X)
After installing and restarting, NAV complains that it can't load scan engine. Didn't we have this problem sometime before? [alert admin]

Apple QuickTime 7.2 (Mac OS X)
After installing I had to restart my system several times before it would boot. At the grey Apple Logo screen (even before the spinning gear) the system would kernel panic forcing a power-off. This happened twice in a row before I could get the system to start back up. [alert admin]

Mousepose 2.5 (Mac OS X)
No matter what - it will not let me select only to display the icon in the menu bar. It always defaults back to Dock and Menu Bar. I've tried this on a PM G5 and a PB G4 and the behavior is the same. Has anyone else noticed this or am I alone? [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X PPC 10.4.8 (Mac OS X)
This link causes Safari to stop responding on all my systems:

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has a problem.

Apple Mac OS X PPC 10.4.8 (Mac OS X)
Safari hangs on every system I have installed this update on: PowerMac G5 2x2GHz, PowerBook G4 1.5, and PowerMac G4(Sawtooth). The page that I have been going to in order to test it is Symantec's support page. Safari starts to load the page, then runs the processor usage up to about 98%, then quits responding. I was just at this page yesterday, so I know it worked in Safari before before the 10.4.8 update. [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.2 (Mac OS X)
System Info Incorrect in Preferences
When clicking System Info in Preferences, this version only identifies half the RAM in the system (reports 2GB instead of 4). I'm running a 1st generation PM G5 2x2GHz with 10.4.7. [alert admin]

How did you get support at VT to respond so fast? I've been waiting over a week now to get my VT Pro app fixed. I can login to the web site and look around and also change my profile, etc but my VT Pro App just stopped working. It tells me I have an invalid login/password - even though I can log in to the web page just fine. This all started about the time…

Yeah, I spoke to some guy in India and had to wait until he checked the link himself. He came and said, "right there is no download link." <silence> "I have to upchannel. You will receive an email in 24 to 48 hours." <silence> "Anything else I can help you with?" I'm thinking, you've got to be kidding. I don't even feel I've been helped yet with the first issue. So I'll wait the 24 to 48 hours and…

Maybe some of it is due to import fees and tariffs? Last time I order a $30 item shipped FedEx from the States, I had to pay almost €40,00 in tariff charges and taxes.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Obviously, I couldn't post the link of the killer page because Safari was locked up and I couldn't select it. I saw some people who said it did the same with 10.4.7, but on Friday morning I had just gone through these links with Safari on 10.4.7 to purchase a new subscription key for Norton AV for Mac v.10 and it worked fine then. Of course now I…

It is supposed to prevent you from forwarding a message with a PC virus attached to your Windows using friends. It also scans for Word and Excel Macro viruses, of which there seem to be plenty if you read through the log files.
