Yummy FTP 1.8.1 (Mac OS X)

Amazingly good FTP

There are about a dozen decent FTP client apps for the Mac, but none of them come close to the resilience, reliability and sheer power of Yummy. I know because I tested them all before making my choice and Yummy has been the only one that didn't barf. Get it. You will not regret it. [alert admin]

Yummy FTP 1.7.2 (Mac OS X)

User (below) is a dud...

Yummy FTP is the best FTP client for the Mac - Interarchy really is not. Looks nicer? That it purely subjective. I think Yummy is spot on! I personally find Interarchy's interface very irritating. For example, it has to reconnect *every* time you want to do anything, like even when changing between List and Column view. How brain dead is that? For your measly $10 you got an incredibly useful and powerful tool - I would gladly have paid the $59 that your precious Interarchy cost, because Yummy is worth it in time saved alone [alert admin]

CuteFTP Mac Professional 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Huh?

This isn't a new release. Download it and you'll see it's dated July 2007 ... Anyway, I still don't recommend. It's just a re-branded Captain FTP and an old one at that LOL [alert admin]

Flow 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Slick UI. Poor file transfer.

A slick UI without a doubt, but most (if not all?) of that is provided by the OS itself, and as far as interfaces go not having a dual pane local/remote view makes it very hard to use, not to mention lots buggy of behavior in other areas. The biggest problem though is that the file transfer bit ... you know, the part which actually makes the app of any use ... it's flaky as hell. "Solid Connections" ? Nope. [alert admin]

He's right. K64 is just another Apple marketing ploy

... like they advertised PowerPC computers as 'super computer on your desktop". Nonsense. Every one now knows that was completely untrue.

And now we have K64, the new 'must have' ...

64 bit does offer improved performance in some specific circumstances, but to imply that everything on your Mac will run faster because of a 64 bit kernel is absolute BS. But then, that's marketing for you!

WTF?

Yummy FTP bears absolutely no resemblance to Captain FTP at all (thank God!!) and Jason (the author of Yummy FTP for those who don't know) is the nicest and most responsive developer I've ever come across. And the Bookmarks, they work great! I've no idea what you're complaining about there since you don't make it very clear. Yummy FTP ROCKS! 5 star product in my book

Not the fastest, but the nicest UI

No apparently about it. I switched from Transmit to Yummy some time ago and it is blazingly fast. It also has a pretty slick UI and, according to their forum at least, remote create/expand archives is in the next update
