That's Not a Picture 2.2 (Mac OS X)

Novel...

While obviously not...really useful or practical. This is a pretty novel idea. A lot of the bloat could easily be reduced by using css to set al the table cells to 1px x1px with a few lines of code rather than setting it via an attribute per cell. Furthermore you could work up some algorithm to use css to color any red cell red, any green cell green, etc. Although at that point you're kind of reinventing the wheel. in any event, this isn't an app I ever would have thought of doing... MatrixGL 2.1 (Mac OS X)

I can't believe I've bought a screensaver...

Seriously, this is one of the most impresive screensavers I've seen. I never thoguht the day woudl come when I'd see a screensaver worth buying. The sheer amount of goodies, the performance, the sane price all add up to a worthwhile product. Performance is more than acceptable on my dp 533 with radeon 8500. Just an all around well done saver. Adium X 0.62 (Mac OS X)

Best Client Bar None

Ok well I can't wait for rendezvous support, and yeha it won't have the video/cvoice of iChat but none of theo ther clients can hold a cnalde ot Adium. The program is fantastic and is way more robust and flexible than nay other. The development community is tireless and simply outstanding. Little things like the ability to have the pop-up-on-contact-hover make it easy to see all thei nformation you need quickly and in all honesty in a really eye-catching trendy way. (OK maybe not everybody lieks it but that sealed the deal for me). The WebKit Message views are great and hey you can always hack your own if you want. THe program itself is lightweight and unobtrusive. And wow just ahah sorry, the developers deserve way mroe credit than they get for making such a great program. As far as stability goes...it's only .62 at this point. I find it stable enoguh for my daily use, your mileage may vary but they're obviously working on improving it one week at a time. Apple Security Update 2004-05-03 (Mac OS X)

All's well

Nothing out of the ordinary to report on a DP533 as of yet. The install went fine without a hitch. Restarted and ran Permissions for safety's sake without any permissions needing to be fixed. Very glad to see Apple being so responsive to security issues. [alert admin]

DeskCover 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Cool Idea

Sorry had a longer post but VT lost it. Cool concept would be nice to be able to specify a gradient fill so I could have no harsh edge and simply have the somewhat opaque fill transition to nothingness. Additionally I can't get rid of the drag bar even when locked. Additionally, this is not that hard to use. I for one was ecstatic to see such a trivial app not show up in my dock and instead, appear up in the menubar. [alert admin]

SlimBatteryMonitor 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Working fine

I had no problems with the startup window which asks if you want to set this as a startup item or not. Are you guys loading it off of the disk image...I did that first time by mistake and didn't have any problems either way. Anyway, It's actually pretty cool I had it on and was able to set it to not display the icon if I was plugged in and my APC UPS had full power. I am using APC Powerchute and just unplugged my APC for a moment. Powerchute alerted me of the power loss and right on cue Slimbattery popped in my menubar with my time remaining. Upon plugging my UPS back in it now shows charge percentage increasing as it charges. All in all no problems yet, just wanted to chime in and let people know this thing does work despite some difficulties people seem to be having getting it to open. QueueIt! 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Not quite how I envisioned this

Sounds Like just the app I was asking for some weeks ago on Blacktree's forum. The description sounds right..but it's not working as described, possibly some wrong doing on my fault. iTunes version 4.2 (72). If I have a song playing, and then select another to enqueue it, yes it is added to the Queue It list, but it also starts playing that song. I know it's difficult (if not impossible)to make a script that reacts to song changes. That said, for the queue to work as I'm sure most would prefer the queue shouldn't be played until the current song is finished. Additionally, the script doesn't remove the song from the queue when it's done. Though iTunes enters a stopped state when it's done with the queue.

Thank you very much for the effort, I'm praying this is my wrong doing as this functionality is desperately needed. In any event, a song should be added to queue as requested. The Queue should be entered and played through until all songs are dequeued, and then pick up where it left off in the normal playlist. Don't let me solely dictate functionality though.

In looking at the script I can see your approach, perhaps my logic is not representative of the majority of users out there. Besides, the only alternative I can think of from an Applescript would rely upon shamelessly polling itunes every so often, or guesstimating when songs end based on time rmaining

Xupport 2.0b3 (Mac OS X)

prebinding trouble (10.3)

After Running a prebinding with xsupport nothing would launch. they would bounce several time and close. Upon a hard reset the system is back up and running fine...more or less

The prebindings are still broken and launch times are very long. Console reports like theses below are common.

SimCity 4 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Windowed Mode/Refresh Problems

I have been able to get around the full screen refresh problem by editing the simcity plist in my user preferences folder set the window mode key to 1 for true and set full-screen to 0 for false obviously. Additionally you can specify the resolution you want in the same file manually. I personally can't get the game to run higher than 800x600 in full-screen but have no problem pulling 1280x1024 in a window. It's kind of aggravating but you'll be able to play the game.
