Name Mangler 2.0 (Mac OS X)
I have tried most of the renaming apps available. Without a doubt Name Mangler does the job, does it well and quickly. Thanks to the developers for making it available as donation ware. If I continue to use it without problems a donation will be forthcoming. I highly recommend this little application. Excellent. [alert admin]

DEVONthink Personal 2.0pb5 (Mac OS X)
Thanks to the Folks of Devon Technologies for powerful, intuitive software. I research, collect and organize data for a variety of purposes and for several volunteer organizations. In this process I have tried a number of data search, collection and organization programs. Each have their features, some work better than others but DEVONthink & agent are superior. Circus Ponies Notebook is one notable competitor and does a nice job of organizing and looking like a good old notebook. It is a comfortable program in that sense. However DEVONthink does it much better without the comfortable format. The kindness of the Devon Folks in providing licenses for certified non-profit and educational use is deeply appreciated also. Support and responsiveness is excellent. Well done! [alert admin]

xPad 1.2.6 (Mac OS X)
Thank you to the developer of this software. I am using it on a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.5.6. It works without a problem. It works beautifully from the services menu of Safari. I select the part of the page I want to copy and 'Open selection in xPad'. It immediately (no delay) opens, gives it a title and saves it. I am then able to print, edit, whatever I might want to do. The privilege that it is freeware is also appreciated. Sincerely, Ralph [alert admin]

I have used Spell Catcher ever since it came out under Cassidy & Green several years ago. The quality of the software and support provided has caused me to always pay for the upgrades. Recently I had the opportunity to seek support for a problem I was experiencing. Evan responded immediately and over several emails (all prompt and to the point) helped me track down and solve the problem. If you have reason to want a spell checker + (many extra features including word completion) that operates well across many apps look no further than Spell Catcher. Thank you Evan. Sincerely Ralph [alert admin]

SnapNDrag 2.4.5 (Mac OS X)
I have used Yellowmug software for years since they started. I use all their products and freeware. The software works well with excellent support. Their freeware Tapdex (simple address book access) is a must have, it is the simplest easy access of address book ever made (I have tried many). Thanks Yellowmug, keep up the great work. PDFpen 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
A long time user of 'smileonmymac' software. Pagesender has been excellent piece of software that does it's job. I have tried many different pdf editing apps and always come back to pdf pen. It is intuitive to use and has a friendly 'smileonmymac' logo lightly imprinted on the demo versions work. I highly recommend it. Thank you 'smile on my mac' folks. [alert admin]

TinkerTool System 1.87 (Mac OS X)
I have used TTS and TT since it was started many years ago. An excellent piece of software that does its job and follows the Mac OS protocols. Excellent author support. It has always interested me how little attention it gets in reviews of this type of utility when for me it outshines them all. Thanks to the TTS team for a continuing great job :-) [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.5 (Mac OS X)
Good utility please add feature
Interesting to see the poor rating VTP gets, I have always found it very useful and would rate it as good with some limitations that should be corrected. A feature I would like to see is a column that would calculate the amount of difference between my presently installed version and the update version. I would appreciate this because my decision to download or not is based upon version difference (ie generally wait until the version difference is +0.1). Thank you. [alert admin]

Spring Cleaning 9.0 (Mac OS X)
I have owned and attempted to use Spring Cleaning in it's many incarnations from 1.0 to 7.0; from Aladin to Allume and have unwisely paid many 'upgrade' dollars. I once naively contacted customer service that having paid many upgrades (at version 5 or 6) they owed me a free upgrade, this was politely refused. I feel the concept is good and always hoped it would deliver, but never. Spring Cleaning has always been slow, cumbersome and needs care in its use to not do damage. It appears to make money for the company. The software disappears off the radar screen (not actively advertised) and then reappears 'upgraded' and costing everyone who bites more money. A 'good idea' that you don't get to try (trial period) causes people to mistakenly buy sight unseen. It would be nice to see as a very solid usable product with a fair trial period so folks could evaluate... will it ever happen? Thanks to the concerns expressed by others, this spurred me to finally write my experiences. [alert admin]

Sorry about the second posting of my note. I will ask admin to remove it. Read previous reviews after my posting. I agree a title search would be nice & it is unfortunate if the author(s) don't respond to e-mails. Life is busy I guess. Still the best one I've tried, hopefully title search will be added in the future. All the best. Ralph
